I'm wondering now if I can play it safer somehow.

Maybe a standard-raise would look more threatening than a push?

Its fine. If villian is really aggressive obv a standard raise would of been better since it would give him the oppurtunity to push...but it doesnt really matter with these two hands.

And you're not deep by any means. But even if u were it wouldnt of changed your play against the shortie.

Also, u dont win tourneys/seats by playing it safe. You should go to the floor with AQ here everytime. I would have a really hard time folding this in a blind battle even if villian had a stack as 'big' as yours...
