hmmmmmmmmmm

I guess it isnt bad. But i think i would wait for a better hand than A9 to go to war with. Yes hes a LAG but he will actually have a hand some of the time. And u arent giving him great odds..i think he would of mucked anything but KQ and something that has u beat.

LOL. This is like the LSC thread, but I take 4x raises very seriously. Not AA/KK seriously, but JJ-88, AK-AJ, KQ seriously. That's the kind of seriously I like to stay away from because even if you want to expand that range, so few in the 100/200 lvl are folding these to a push. With hands like 77-TT, I'd be more inclined to stop n' go than push, let alone pushing with AQ or worse.

With an M of 12, even if the person makes a ton of 4x raises, that makes me salivate because he's commiting to my stack with a CB. No need to get involved with A9 when he's begging to get stacked.

This is the LSC thread I was talking about: forum/viewtopic.php?t=20913

A "stop n' go's" just cold-calling a PF raise OOP and leading the flop for healthy bet, usually a push for me because I only use it in the lower M situations. Very usefull in SnG's. It's also useful for me in varying my play in cash games where I tend to play re-raise/fold, raise/fold in the blinds a lot.

i.e.
Blinds 200/400/25 ante.

Folds to MP2 (t7500) who's aggressive PF and cannot laydown after entering a pot until he sees some cards raises to 1400. Folds to me (t4500) in the SB with 99. I know he's calling a push because he's a donk like that and will call any push from anyone with any hand he feels is worth open-raising. I just call the 1000

Flop: T-8-4 (Pot: 3200)
I shove for my last 3100.

That's a stop n' go. We're just figuring this is profitable because of his wide PF range that we're a coinflip fav against a vast majority of. The stop n' go cuts these situations down to 3-card hands instead of 5 cards or no cards that are almost always gonna be 5 card hands.

I'd say I use it once or twice per SnG and maybe 3-4 times in an MTT, maybe less. I'd think H2T uses it more because he has more MTT experience and probably picks the spots better, but I don't know.

I just typed all this shit up, but could've just posted this link to Fossilman describing it on 2p2: http://archiveserver.twoplustwo.com/sho ... =5&o=&vc=1

Here's a great post on re-stealing (Scroll down to Ansky's post. It's the last on the 1st page): http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showf ... 101&page=0

donk, thanks... not sure if i use stop'n'go, but i use a "point of no return" once or twice if reasonably short-stacked in MTT..... i have AK, miss a flop (usually a raggy flop) and then i just close my eyes and go all-in, and surprisingly it works really well in B&M. B&M people tend to be much more Loose-passive and predictable than online, so it works fairly well (i left out alot of stuff like position, # of callers etc. but it obviously has to be right circumstances and/or feel).

just curious, what about WPT people coming over the top of raisers with absolutely nothing? isn't that even worse than what i did??

thanks again!!

In the WPT, they're:

A.) 6-handed

B.) In situations where calling off your chips in 1 hand can mean the difference between $50k and $500k

C.) More familiar with each other's tendencies. What the WPT doesn't televise is when they're 7-10 handed. This TV table bubble goes hours and hours because I believe they don't raise the blinds at this point, I've heard. Either way, the blinds raise raise very slow before the TV table in WPT events and most pros complaints revolve around having great poker for 3 days capped off by a 4 hour half-million dollar crapshoot.

Read HoH2. If you already have, re-read it. I'm a break-even tournament player at best, though because I don't play many. I know Hard2tel's more the "MTT guy" than I.
