I've been seeing more and more of these guys on pokerstars at .5/1 that play about 18%-20% of all hands and raise or re-raise everytime they enter a pot and cb every time they re-raise. i've found my self raising with QQ getting re-raised and 4 betting and calling an all-in to see AK. I've adapted by playing weak tight, and slow playing AK or big pairs. It makes it difficult though when you have 99-JJ and they cb everytime they re-raise, you call and the A or K hits the river and they bet out. Does anyone have any advice on these players or know if its a new poker book trend and if so what is it.

The good thing is that you can STILL play tight postflop and exploit their overaggressiveness. If the players you are facing know how to let go when you come over the top and put a raise or slow down on the turn, then you need to work on your table selection because you areplaying a bunch of solid winning players. I dont see many of them in NL$100 though.

The kind of ultra aggressive players at these lower stakes are beatable because you can trap them, because they are not so good postflop. You have to learn what are their standards. Do they go deep with overpairs? if they do, hit a set and let THEM do the betting.

As i said, if the players you are describing, are not paying your big hands they are solid winning players and the things get complicated at this point because there, the game is no longer a game of cards but a mind game.
