$100NL 6-max @ Tribeca

i raise to $4 in the CO with [9c]. SB calls. he hasnt done anything to stand out yet. seems passive but tighter than most of tribeca. he has $95, i cover

flop: [Tc][9s]
pot: $8

check, i bet $7, he calls.

turn:
pot: $22

check, check (i'd usually bet here....but im not sure i want to get CR'd).

river:
pot: still $22

he leads $15. do i raise/call? if i raise, do i call a push?

i wont usually check turn. but a few reasons here:

if he has clubs, i wouldnt mind giving him a chance to hit.

QJ is definitely in his range and i have like a million outs against it and really don't want to get CR'd. if i get CR'd there's a large chance that im dead to a boat....but im not sure i can bring myself to fold, because QJ is equally likely and i have so many outs against it.

and to a large extent i want to mix up my play so as to educate myself about different situations.


having said that....i probably should have bet turn. but i think this decision is closer than the responses would indicate.

I vehemently disagree. I think not betting this turn is a big mistake.

a) you want to build the pot. You almost certainly have the best hand, and if not, you have a fuckload of outs to get the best hand.

b) he will almost always still call with a flush draw, drawing dead. If it hits, you have a better chance of stacking him if you bet the turn.

c) you don't want a scarecard to hit the river if he has a hand like KT or 89 and have it kill your action, get the money in now.

There's probably more but i'm playing atm and can't write up a fully-detailed reply. But please, this turn is a bet 100% of the time. It isn't close.
