Wow congrats. Now that you've got a nice big bankroll again you should give $2/$4 on Stars a shot again I think.

Well seeing how everyone else is doing it guess I should finally get around to it as well. Below are my 2006 year in review and a few goals for 2007. Obv Hard2Tel is my daddy, but skill wise I don’t think I am far from catching up to him. Obv no one has his luckbox which is something I will have to overcome.

I started out in Jan playing NL$50 full ring with occasional shots at $100. I was also playing STT’s and MTT’s when I got the notion. It is hard for me to realize now just how bad I sucked back then. Not that I am the crème de la crème now, but I was really horrible 12 months ago. I slowly grinded a small net loss for the 1st few months of 06. Then shit really hit the fan. In May I lost $1,800, and was down to about $700 in my roll. I was devastated. Details of my next steps can be found on the 1st page of my journal. I eventually was able to grind my way back out of the hole. I decided to really dedicate myself to the game and to start putting in tons more hours than I had in the past. June was a great month for me winning over $3K including bonuses my best month yet. Then in July I took down the $35K grtd on Stars for a little over $10K and I haven’t looked back since. I made the switch to 6max around June, and now find full ring to be about as boring as watching paint dry. I am currently playing $200 6max when I play cash games, but have been focusing a lot of time to MTTs.

So stats below for the year:

MTT’s - $9,447.87 (This is really disappointing. I thought I would be a lot higher than this. But it looks like the 1st half of the year killed me. I was down $5000 in Donkaments for the year at the end of May.)

Misc – ($556.39) This is mostly me donking around at games I have no idea how to play.

This is the first time I have totaled these numbers and I must say I am quite disappointed. I thought for sure I would have made$20K + easy, excluding bonuses. But I was actually down $3K in total starting June, so the 1st half of the year really sucked hard. Like I said I wasn’t very good then.

Goals for 2007:

1. At least 3 different 5 digit MTT scores.
This should be easy to do if I take the fundamentals I have learned and apply them. With the huge fields that some of the Full Tilt and Poker Stars Tourneys have I think this one is very attainable.

2. Qualify for the WSOP.
This doesn’t really need any explanation. With as many sites that offer satellites this too should be relatively easy to obtain.

3. End the 2007 playing NL400 at a +3PTBB or better pace.
I am sure Xaston will love this one. I hope to be playing NL400 by this summer and to be beating it regularly by the end of the year. To do this I need to really revisit my cash game and start thinking a little more out of the box. All to often I get in ruts when playing cash games and become way to easy to play against.

4. 10 or more MTT wins.
To do this I need to start playing on some of the smaller sites more regularly. It is very difficult to have 10 wins in 1000+ fields. For comparisons I had 7 wins in 2006. 5 of those were In 180 man SnG’s which I will not count towards the goal.

5. Qualify for 1 other WPT/EPT
Again self explanatory.


It is hard for me to put down in words how far I believe I have come not in 2006 in total, as I think I really was a horrible player for the 1st half, but the past 4 or 5 months how much I have developed as a player. The results may not show that just yet, but I have a feeling 2007 is going to be a huge year for me. This forum has helped me grow immensely over the past 12 months, and I am very thankful.

Man you suck. I'm beating it for 5+ over the past 65k hands. The 3ptbb/100 is my lifetime there, which includes a tonne of hands where i was still a lil noob.
