Okay, I've started to mess around with PLO8 for a couple of weeks and I'm having fun. But I don't know my ass from left-center field, so if this is a really dumb hand - be kind.

First orbit of the night so I'm essentially full stack.

UTG and I'm dealt A[h] 2[c] 4[h] 3[h]. Gotta see the flop with this. The table has been very passive with about 50% limping to see the flop so I just limped. Two more callers to the button who raised to .45. The blinds folded and I just called. Should I have re-raised? I thought about it but figured a high flop would shut me out.

Flop came A[d] 3[s] 8[s].

Hmmmm - looks to me like I have the nut low with, maybe, some outs for a high. I bet half the pot to not push people out and got two callers (MP and LP) - button is gone.

Turn is the 7[s]. I bet half pot again and MP re-raised full pot. Okay, he hit the flush. LP bailed and it is to me.

What do I do now?

pf is fine. i wouldn't reraise, although that's viable in some games (probably not 10plo8).

on the flop you have nut low AND 2pr AND a gutshot to a wheel-- that's a fvcking monster. also note that with the A and 3 on the board, the "standard" low hands like A2, A3, and 23 are counterfeited. i would bet full pot and wouldn't cry if they folded. the problem with your 1/2 pot bet is that you don't want to price drawing hands in, and this bet could convince a flush draw to call if he has some sort of half decent low and/or if there are multiple callers. another point to consider is that your low can stll be counterfeited.

on the turn, even when the flush hits, you need to get the money in since you still have redraws to beat the flush. you might also be able to get non-nut flushes to fold if you jam. you're only getting quarted by 24xx suited to spades (and there are a few outs to bust your low), but i think you're freerolling here (to 4 outs for high) quite often. also note that a lot of times a bare nut low will wait for this scarecard to jam and you can get 3/4. probably not at 10plo8, but you'll see better players do this as you move up.

anyway, don't fear the quartering or the rare scoop (when your low is counterfeited on the river) on a board like this -- you're usually in REALLY good shape here.

Yup, I play it as kuso said for the most part as well. I won't reraise preflop here either, but I will pot that flop and repot till the cows come home.

The turn sucked but you have outs to scoop, so pooooosh. Yeah, you'll get quartered and/or scooped at times, but this is so +EV it's off the charts.

*Edit, no, this is not really that much +ev, but it's a situation that you should never be afraid to get aggro in.

I did re-raise him all-in and we split the pot - he had A[s] T[s] 9[c] 6[c] for the nut flush.

So pound it once the flush hits just on the basis of the redraw?
