Hey everyone, new to the forum and looking for some much needed advice.

I played close to 10,000 hands over the past week at FTP for mostly .50/1 (some .25/.5 and 1/2 thrown in), 6 max games. I recorded my play with Poker Tracker and it seems as though I'm solid for the most part (I was listed as being tight, aggressive with the newest 6 max qualification rules). There are definite flaws in my game, but in limits as low as these I think I'm good enough to be making a profit in the long run. As the stats show, though, I've only made $150. I was getting a good amount of bad beats and probably lost close to $150 because of them. Even if you take these into account, though, the second image shows that I made $440 with AA alone. So if you take away those hands (which I know is an unrealistic hypothetical situation), and take away the bad beats at the same time, I'm only up $10. Something I'm doing is wrong and I have no idea what it is. Oh ya, I noticed that I'm winning only 36% of the hands I'm in, which seems low considering I'm so tight. Any help is greatly appreciated.

First off, your sample size is too small. I recommend you put in at least 5,000 hands before your post stats. You can start to get an idea of your winrate at about 25K hands.


The reason your are winning only 36% of your hands is that you aren't CB'ing enough when after your preflop raise. That stat stuck out to me as being quite low. Try to get your W$ When saw flop up to 50%.

Your Won $ at SD may mean you are folding the best hand to often. I believe thist stat should be >50% and < 60%.

You are loosening up in position which is good. Again, it is hard to draw conclusions with this sample size. I recommend you grind out 5K hands at 50NL and post again.

The answer is that you probably are just playing ABC poker without particularly good reads and at 6 max $200 a little more is needed to turn a really good profit.


10k hands really is too few to get a good drip on a lot of stats - my last 10k $100 5&6 max shows my just over 7PTBB/100 with stats of 35/10 but losing money from the button with all of AA, KK, QQ and JJ !!

I am getting all excited about my 'terrible button leak'? - nah not yet - if it shows poor performance over the next 10k hands then maybe I'll sit down and see what's going on, but 10k really is too few to worry about.
