Stack sizes:
UTG: $124.38
CO: $125.87
Hero: $99.85
SB: $64.10
BB: $94.50

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with [As]

2 folds, Hero raises to $4, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: [4s]

($9, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $8, SB raises to $16, hero?

Am I better off trying to get money in now before a scare card or letting him hang himself?

push the flop after hes reraised you or call/ push the turn. I think I would go with the former hes either hit a set or has a hand like 1010,JJ or QQ. that he tried thinking he was smart slow playing preflop.If he has the overpair which I think is most likley he may not play for his stack if an overcard comes on the turn. Id get it in now. If hes on the flush draw good luck to him.

People almost never min check raise the flop and then check the turn to you in a raised pot.

every time i dont bet/raise with a straight i seem to regret it.

but having the [As]

is a nice little backup card against a FD.

i think ihs range, in general order from most likely to least likely is: JJ-66, set, 33, flush draw, 54, something else.

i would 3-bet it now because a board pair could kill your hand, a high card could kill your action, and you have no clue what to do if a [s]

comes.
