I played with Kenny more than any other BTPer (except maybe Aisthesis along long time ago)
This was at $200 NL full ring so I didnt mind playing with his since there were 7 or 8 other guys at ther table. I have a pretty good handle on Kennys game.
I personally, would rate him even with me in skill level. Now, he advantages over me and disadvantages. When we were both playing 1/2, I would rated us both in the top .1% of players in the world at those stakes. Yes thats point 1 percent. I have more hands at these stakes than you can believe so I know what other players are winning.
At higher stakes like 5/10, he was a better player than me because of his lack of fear. We have different goals and play for different reasons. I like the steady stress free income of smaller stakes which makes him a better higher stakes player.
Now, I say was a better high stakes player because I dont believe for a sec that hes playing well right now. Ive seen him make major mistakes in alot of the hands hes posted in the last 4 months. Now maybe Im wrong and theyre not really mistakes. Maybe when if I played the hand differently than him, I wouldve been playing it wrong, but considering that Im pretty good and our styles are similar (at least they used to be when he was winning...hint hint), I think hes been playing badly for a while and doesnt recognize it.
Theres no doubt there some bad luck in there as well, but I just dont believe anyone can run bad this long playing their A game (when their A game used to be killer).
I did recommend to him that he move down to $200NL and basically start over. Start over from scratch like he had never played high stakes. This is not as easy as it sounds because the games play differently, but it can be done.
I would really like to see his last 10K hands so if anyone knows a way for him to get them to me and hes willing, Id be happy to take a look see.
