another crazy poker day
Current mood: refreshed

Well I managed to put in 3 hours today..I was shooting for 4 hours but oh well. I decided to leave after my huge surge was over and I was feeling tired.

here are the stats:
Tuesday
3 hours
$362

I played all 3 hours on Bodog poker 3-tabling. The first session I played for 2 1/2 hours and made a measely $40. It would have been much higher..but another set got cracked by a runner runner flush for a $170...and I lost a big pot with JJ to a flopped flush of Q8. In each instance I thought I played the hand perfectly. I left disappointed..but I was glad I finished up.

The 2nd session was a whole different story. I had just returned from the movies (I suffered through the "The Interpreter" ugh) and decide to play anywhere from an hour to 3 hours, depending on a variety of factors.

I only made it to 34 minutes, but i brought in a whopping $318. I had 3 big simlantous hands on 3 seperate tables. I was up over $100 on each table in such a short time. I was feeling a bit tired...so I just decided to leave it right there.

Wish it was always that easy. :) Bodog is looking great for me so far.

I vote for "simlantous" in the "most botched spelling of a word" contest.

hmmm..
Current mood: cheerful

I think I'm gonna set my goal to make $120 for the rest of the week then stop playing till tuesday. I need a break from poker for a while....playing 6-7 days a week (even if it isn't many hours)..well it starts to eat at you.

Anyhow...I played 3 1/2 hours at bodog today:

thursday
3.5 hours bodog
$117

My first session was two hours long in the afternoon. river after river after river demolished any chance to pull in a win. Overall though..I was estatic with my play! Only losing $75 against the hands I was facing is quite a feat. Here's an example:

1/2 nl

opponent and i both have around $200. Opponent is a decent player.

I get KQ on the button after a couple of limpers. I call. Blinds check.

FLOP $14
5 6 Q rainbow

Checked to the cutoff who bets $4 in to me. I raise to $14. UTG calls with almost no draws out??? yikes...I didn't like that. He cold calls a bet and a raise..looks like AQ,AA,KK or a set. I'm leaning towards a set with the way the hand was played. I don't like my hand anymore. Cutoff folds. so now it's just me and UTG.

TURN $46
5 6 Q 2 (backdoor flush draw)

Opponent checks. My hand looks even worse now because 34 has hit a straight (unlikely but possible.) I check right behind him.

RIVER $46
5 6 Q 2 Q no flush possible.

hmm..interesting card. Well i just rivered AA and KK but a set still kills me.

UTG bets $20. I consider raising for about 2 seconds and realized how stupid that would be. He's only betting with a queen or full house here. I think he has me beat. I call with my 2.5-1 odds and he shows 55 for a full house... 5's full of queens.

This may sound arrogant..but this hand shows why I can do this for a living. I know of soo many players that would continue to bet the turn and then raise the river, costing their whole stack! I realized by his cold call on the flop that I was in trouble. I tried to keep the pot as small as possible..using my postion to great advantage. lovely kenny...just lovely! heh.

I started up a 2nd session for 1.5 hours. I ended up for the session $190. I finally hit some cards..but still got rivered once or twice. At least i wasn't pissed :) Here's a big hand that really helped:

1/2 NL
My opponent was decent. he had $800 (quite a run)..I had $350.

He raised from the cutoff $6. I called on the button with 46o. Not a premium hand I know...but for $6 with postion, to bust a $350 from this guy...well I thought it was worth it.

FLOP $17
5 9 4 rainbow

Opponent and I are the only ones in hand. Opponent checks. I check as well...Don't wanna be raised off with my buttom pair shit kicker lol.

TURN $17
5 9 4 J rainbow

Opponent bets $6. ha. I was gonna raise him but decided it would look to obviously like a steal (this guy was willing to gamble.) I call looking for some nice river.

RIVER $29
5 9 4 J 6 rainbow

Opponent checks. I now have a low two pair. I don't think he's slowplaying JJ here. The only thing I'm worred about is 99. I bet $20. He raises to $80. I consider reraising strongly here...I really think he has AA. But i decide against it since ti's so much money and I'm not sure he would even call that reraise.

So I just call. He shows AKo and I take it down. Told you that guy was willing to gamble it up :)

Anyway, overall I had a decent day. I really had some interesting hands. That was cool cuz lately its been so much of a grind..same crap over and over again.

bodog rocks! later :)

I play your KQ hand exactly the same way. Excellent play!

Kenny, I love your " current mood" section. I have noticed though that you are very moody.

Thanks for the support MG. I will keep grinding and grinding. I don't plan on playing 5/10 again for a long time. that being said...I'm looking foward to moving up to 2/4 NL either next month or the month after. :)
