I have been looking for you in some of the 1020 short handed games to watch you a bit but am having a hard time tracking you down with all those tables as I guess you have the hide from search selected.

That hand was pretty nice just too bad both of them did not have big aces as the capper was a BIG FISH, the same one that three bet me preflop with that J9s from the SB. The first raiser was pretty solid so that is alot of the reason I checked as if I bet he is gone for sure if he doesn't hold an A but he is likely to call the fish if he has a big pocket pair but unfortunately he decided not to take one off.

piers:

Yeah, i understand- hindsight is always 20/20 when it comes to maximizing value in a hand. you slow roll your boat, and it turns out that your opponent flopped an underboat, and wouldve capped it on every street with you, and your like hey! I shoudlve just jammed it..This happened to me when i flopped Quad aces onna board of AA3. the other 3 turned, and i figured that he had to have a 3 at MOST so i didnt want to run him off with a raise- after a river cap, it turns out he had 33. Damn.

My name on PP is 'Mecosking'. Not hidden from search or nothin-- im on lots of peoples idiot--er sorry i mean BUDDY lists, because some people consider me a maniac. Hehehe. I say, letem come n getme! Whats your party name? I wouldnt mind seen how a full ring game is sposed to be played...

EDIT: yeah if you peek in on me your not gonna be too impressed by my weak tight play. Im only 35% vpip and about 3 PFA... which is like, way less than alot of people at the SH games, lots of whom are right around 50%. Ive tightened down some definitely, but it had to happen sometime...

Thanks. Perhaps you weren't siting at a table when I checked the location thing. The name I usually play under is Lucia_Cortez, my wife's account.

High Point, Low Point

Postby piersmajestyk » Sat Apr 30, 2005 2:41 pm

Overall today has been pretty nice as I have accumulated 440.00 on the positive side and managed to crack 3K for the month as well after not working for the first ten days so not too shabby. On another note I finally managed to get my 36 limit game in the black after around 16K hands  . A couple of hands for the highs and lows of today.

Hand #1. How to play 84o UTG

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [8d], [4s].
Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, 4 folds, BB checks.

Flop: (4.33 SB) [8h], [4h], [As] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, MP2 folds, BB folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG+1 caps, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.16 BB) [Jc] (2 players)

River: (6.16 BB) [3s] (2 players)

Final Pot: 6.16 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 8d 4s (two pair, eights and fours).
UTG+1 has Ad 9c (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 6.16 BB.

Hand #2. Suckout dog cracks my 42s

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [2h], [4h].
3 folds, MP2 raises, 3 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.33 SB) [4c], [Jc], [9h] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.16 BB) [5s] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

River: (5.16 BB) [Tc] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 7.16 BB

Played my first multitable tournament in a while. A 10+1 NL at PStars with 1460 or so folks. Got knocked out about 350 and never had a hand. Last hand I am down to about 900 in chips and limp on the button with about 5 others with J9 hoping to hit something. Blinds 100-200. Flop K93, checked around to me and I go all in with my pair of 9's and get called in three places so I figure lights out for me but the pot now has close to 3500.00 in it if I can get lucky. Turn card is a 9 and I am looking good and the damn river card is the case K to give two folks a bigger boat. Oh well. May start to play a few more of these because the play is just horrendous and if you can ever catch a few hands early you would be in good shape. By the first break over 800 people had done left the playing field.

The old 48o was caused by a table popping up on me when I was checking a hand history and I accidently clicked on call  No excuse for playing a powerhouse like 24s slow like that.

Well yesterday in one word sucked. Played a 15 hour marathon session, ten yesterday and another 5 tacked on until 5am this morning. The first 9 hours were just one of the most horrendous runs of bad beats, bad decision and just subpar play in a few spots that I have ever went through. Not going to post any of the asswhipping we'll just leave it that there was more than one. Net total for yesterday until midnight (-1706.96). What a lovely figure to start the month off at. At about midnight I switched over to 400 NL and ran up about 1300 of profit before proceeding to dump off about 800 or so right at the last to some very bad calls. The play at times was just terrible. I think I will play some more today there and try to eliminate the mistakes.

Up a little over 700.00 today which is a good start I guess on knocking out that bloated asswhipping from yesterday. Played quite a bit of NL today 100 and 200 NL. PokerNow is offering a 200.00 bonus through May 8 so I deposited there and will just play 100 NL to knock the rest of that off probably later tonight. Really enjoying the NL as I am winning and everything is better when you are winning. Played very good this afternoon but due to getting two sets cracked, one by a runner runner straight and the other one to a higher set, my winnings weren't as high as they should have been.

Geared up for the HORSE tournament tonight, should be a good time and just a chance to relax while kicking some BTPer's asses  That's just the rum talking.

Well when things fall apart they usually fall apart in a big way for me. Today overall has been a pretty good day as I have made about 745 or so but should have made more. The BTP HORSE tournament didn't last long for me as I finished 10th out of 11th. I can't imagine that some poor bastard got knocked out before me because I only lasted 23 minutes or so. Raise with A234 in Omaha H/L twice in a row and the flop comes down K109, thanks for coming out  I really wish the blinds didn't escalate so fast but I guess that wouldn't have mattered as much if I could have accumulate some chips. My only satisfaction from the whole thing was bluffing the socks off TW in Holdem

First 100 Days of Playing for 2005

Postby piersmajestyk » Mon May 02, 2005 9:13 pm

Well after 100 days of playing this year I have won 89% of the time. I haven't really tracked this % before but I suppose it would be pretty accurate for me over the long term online. The only bad thing is that 4 of those 11 losing days were monsters: -1706, -776, -2232 and -1505 (6219.00) That's a big dent in the bottom line :(

HORSE TOURNY

Postby piersmajestyk » Mon May 09, 2005 9:02 pm

Well after stinking it up last week played alot more solid this time around and finished 2nd. Caught a tough break in the stud round when my opponent caught his straight in a big pot and couldn't ever recover.

Well had a horrendous first week of the month. Some of it my doing and some of it just running bad but whatever the end result was the same, it sucked. Hopefully back on track now.

Hands 4K+ 5-10 Limit
BB/100: 3.87
BB/Hour: 7.72

Those are numbers I can live with 8-) These games are just rocking late at night. It will be very hard to keep that pace up but with so many fools populating these tables it might be possible.

Suckout hand of the day thus far, or thanks for calling three bets from the small blind from the two tightest folks on the table you got what you deserved

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with [Qc], [Qs]. MP3 posts a blind of $7.
2 folds, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB calls, 1 fold, Hero caps, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, SB calls.

Turn: (12.20 BB) [2c] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: (14.20 BB) [7c] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 16.20 BB

Results in white below:
SB has Ah 6h (three of a kind, sixes).
Hero has Qc Qs (flush, queen high).
Outcome: Hero wins 16.20 BB.

Solid Hand of the Day, or why it is very dangerous to call an EP raise by the table rock, you just might catch what you are looking for.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Ah], [Ad].
1 fold, Hero raises, 4 folds, CO calls, 3 folds.

Hero bets, CO calls.

Turn: (3.70 BB) [Tc] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises, CO 3-bets, Hero caps, CO calls.

River: (11.70 BB) [3d] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Final Pot: 13.70 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Ah Ad (full house, aces full of tens).
CO has Td Jd (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: Hero wins 13.70 BB.

Shit hand of the day, from 90.5% favorite on the turn to seeing a 180.00 pot sliding the other direction to a 4 outer.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [6h], [5c].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 4 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (5.40 SB) [Ac], [4d], [7s] (5 players)

Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, MP1 3-bets, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls $3 (All-In), MP1 calls.

River: (16 BB) [Ad] (3 players, 1 all-in)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 18 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 6h 5c (straight, seven high).
UTG+1 has 2h 2s (two pair, aces and twos).
