I don't mind a fold in hand #1. Your out of position in a hand with TPTK and a guy who you know only gets crazy when he hits a hand. Sure he could have KK here but it isn't worth it t play for $650 in this spot when you can crush him later. I may call but a fold is fine

Hand 2 is a clear raise imo. He is short (only 300), TPTK is good most of the time against him. With a TP type of hand he will most likely get it in on the flop.

Hand 1: Folding to a raise on that board is pretty conservative, might be ok based on your read of the table/situation. You can only be afraid of AA/22/33. He could be on a flush draw, but you have the A, so that makes it less likely... If my understanding is right, you were oop? That makes it less appealing to continue with the hand. I might still call and re-evaluate on the turn.
