Beautiful Broiled Brussel Sprouts:
Growing up we all hated brussel sprouts. But that's because our mom's steamed them, and they taste terrible that way. I learned that if you broil them till they are moderately charred on the outside they get sweet and delicious. This recipe is very very simple.
Grab a handful of brussel sprouts and slice them through the bottom. Slice up a piece of ham (or cooked bacon). Add enough extra virgin olive oil to lightly coat everything. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Pour it out onto a cookie sheet and make sure you have the sliced side of the brussel sprouts facing up. Broil for about 2 minutes.
Flip them over so the leafy sides of the brussel sprouts are facing up. Broil until the outter few leaves are nicely charred,
I was a nervous skeptic before making these, but they really are quite delicious. Kara will clean my room and do all my dishes every time she comes over, as long as I make her these brussel sprouts.
Bon appetit
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.
