Had been involved in quite a few pots with this guy so far, he was donkish and didn't like letting go of pots. He obv put me on the king and I figured he was just trying to rep the 8 with an underpair.

I don't like it even with good results. If he were that much of a donk he could find a call button even with a 99 here, moreover I've seen lots of donks playing 85o this way.
