Ok this is 5-max and the table just got 4-handed. Villain and I have played a few hands against eachother now and he's donated half a stack to me when he mini-check/raised his flush draw on the flop, bet the missed turn and got it in on the river when he hit his flush and I hit my boat. Looks like he likes to float and he's playing very loose preflop, usually limping. I'd say he's a not-good FPS LAG.

He has 150, I have him covered. Blinds are 0.5/1.

UTG folds, I raise [4s] [2d] on the button to 4. Villain in SB re-raises to 10 and I call.

Flop comes 335 with a spade flush draw. He overbets the pot somewhat, putting in 26. I flat call.

Turn is the [2s], he bets 61 and I push.

Good/bad against this player?

It's just a pure gamble of a hand - he's repping the over-pair, and you are just putting your money in there knowing he is gonna call because he is already pot-commited; and all because you have an one card-open ended straight-flush draw. If he has A-A with the A[s], then you only have 6 outs.

I'd just fold after he raises so small (like you said, practically a min-raise!) - he's telling you he's got a big over-pair so you need to flop a monster to get it in good; not good EV in this play in the long-run. And since it's probably a really big over-pair, your not gonna outplay him most of the time.

I'm guessing he had K-K or A-A with a spade and doubled up thruogh you.

Well I had him squarely on overcards, pretty much AT-AK with AJ-AQ being most likely. After reading the responses here I tried to figure out why I was so sure he had that. Well the preflop re-raise to me indicated a high card hand, not a pair. I think he would raise bigger with a pair. But more importantly post flop was his betting pattern.

He bet big and he bet really quick. Both on the flop and the turn. What the hell kind of hand does that on this board? On the turn the board is [2s] [3s] [3c] [5s]

I'm not saying that an overpair wouldn't bet her, but when the flush arrives and the board is paired and a straight is possible... don't you have to at least stop and THINK about it?

I actually figured I was ahead when I pushed on the turn, but wanted him to fold because if he has [Ah] [Js] or something he has a lot of outs. I also felt that the way I played it he had to put me on a flush or trips. For some reason he decided to call with AQ and no spade and my pair of deuces held up.

I agree with folding preflop (not once I've raised though), but I tend to use 42o as one of my "mix up" hands.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

Well of course I can't really defend raising 42o from a non-metagame perspective, and maybe not even then. Also, I didn't post this hand as a "standard" hand or line check, this is obviously a very "un-standard" hand. However, after the raise is made preflop I don't really think my decisions are bad, although they are most definetely high variance.
