Nice to see things are going well for you again Kenny. You up to your normal 8 BB/100 yet?

Cruising Along
10:00pm
Mood: reflective

All is still well. Had a monster 4 buyin winning session last night. This morning of course I dropped 3/4ths of that win, but I played well. I examined all the big losing hands after the session and it was just an influx of bad beats. I made a little bit back in my second session even though I ran poorly.

My play has been excellent lately. I've been forcing my opponents to make decisions (mistakes) while I also control the pot size. I've put some players on tilt. I've made great reads. I leave before I tilt. I'm putting in decent hours. I can't demand any more from myself.

It's frustrating to put all this time in not knowing if my money will be readily accessible. Who knows what will happen in the current climate? I think I will see my money, but it's a risk. A big risk. Still I need to work and I need money.

Which is why a move to Vegas is becoming a new reality for me. I'm not 100% on it yet, but it's looking like it more and more each day. My lease runs out at the end of May. Perhaps things will change and I'll be able to stay here. I may move anyway. I'm not sure of anything just yet.

For the time being, I will probably just stick to low limits of 1/2 and 2/4. I'm not sure putting big money online right now is a wise choice. I'm pretty amazed at my winrate on 1/2 right now anyway. It's much more hourly than I had expected.

If I do move to Vegas I'm going to look at it as a new chapter in my life. An exciting adventure waiting in the wings. Besides, I'm sure MVP wants someone to share in his nightly drinking and debauchery.

-----------------------------------------------------------
I put this guy on tilt after showing a few small bluffs. He insta-called the flop, insta-bet the turn, and insta-pushed over my check raise. I contemplated folding the turn but given the pot odds, our history, and his play of the hand it was an easy call.

HERO: $287.51
Button: $233.56
SB: $181.80
BB: $217.25

Pre-flop: (5 players) HERO is CO with [Qc] [Ks]
UTG folds, HERO raises to $8, Button calls, 2 folds.

Flop: [3d] [Qs] [4d] ($19, 2 players)
HERO bets $16, Button calls.

Turn: [4s] ($51, 2 players)
HERO checks, Button bets $25.5, HERO raises to $120, Button raises all-in $184.06, HERO calls.

River: [4h] ($444.62, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: $419.12, Sidepot 1: $25.5)

Results:
Final pot: $444.62
Button shows 9d 9s
HERO shows Qc Ks

----------------------------------------------------------------
This guy yelled at me about this hand for a good 5 minutes. I was open-ended on the flop w/ a backdoor flush draw. I decided a small bet on the turn would look like a blocker. (And if he raised with a lone ten that was great because I would be freerolling for a flush.) On the river, I was going to value bet, but decided a push would look very fishy considering my turn bet. After he called and lost he told me to "go buy a lottery ticket." I replied, "Why should I if you're going to call allins with 4 to the straight out." He shut up after that. ROLFCOPTER

Hey I think I saw your avatar in Universal Soldier last night....? If it wasn't him, it looked just like him. It was actually on Soledad Universalo or whatever the Spanish translation of that is. For some reason they had the Mexican TV station on at the bar I was at. I dunno. I just kept staring at him and thinking "hey...thats Kenny....WTF is Kenny doing in Universal Soldier?"

Moving to Vegas...

I decided on Valentines day that I was moving to Las Vegas. It was a big decison but I think in the end it'll be the correct move. An excerpt from my personal blog that day:

"I'm rolling up and heading to Vegas. There's still a bit of fear and shock value for all of this. Although I've been to Vegas three times, the West Coast is still pretty alien to me. My family is here in North Carolina. I will be completely on my own 2500 miles away.

It's time to forge a new path. I'm not satisfied with my life. I have so much potential and so little experience. If I don't get out in the world and start to really live then I'm wasting my time on this Earth. I want to live a life that's full. I think Charlotte was just the first step in my journey.

I was reading some inspirational thread on 2+2 today (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showf ... art=1&vc=1) and after the first two pages I was instantly convinced I needed a change. Five minutes later I was negotiating an early end to my lease in Charlotte.

I will sell most of my possessions, pack what I can fit in my car, and start anew. I don't know what dream I'll be chasing. I wait anxiously for April."

So that's it. I look forward to the challenge as well as good times with MVP.

On a side note: Prima has been giving me complete crap about getting my money. I may have to kiss $3k goodbye. I hope it doesn't come to that but I'm not holding my breath. As things stands, I will play 1/2 online until I move in late March/early April. I'll start with 2/5 in vegas and grind it out. I'll see where that takes me.

Kenny as always best of luck. You should be able to clean up the 2/5 games Vegas, the games are really weak and you'll be playing 10/20 before you know it.

Kg ... awesome to hear and I've got to say I'm a little envious ... I had a family at a young age which precluded me from doing a bit of "earth-roaming" ... now I need to wait ... so simply just a hats off 'good for you' sir. I'll keep reading about your life as it goes.

Q: Why is Prima giving you a hard time? American thing?
