Split aces and tripping on sixth

Postby starstealer » Tue May 10, 2005 9:41 am

Here is another hand from my long stud session last night. At this point, I'm down somewhere in the neighborhood of $100. Everyone at the table is pretty bad and a fair number of them are calling stations.

On third, starting with split aces, I raise after 2 people call the bring in. All three players call my raise.

On fourth, only one of the limpers seems to get a card of worth and I bet out again - the bring in folds but the other two call.

On fifth, the same limper improves again by picking up an ace and now he leads out. I raise, folding the other limper and the bettor calls.

On sixth, here's what I'm looking at:

Dealt to limper [Qd] [Kc] [Ad] [3d]
Dealt to Starstealer [Ah] [6h] [Ac] [3s] [2h] [As]

Dead cards of note: 3 diamonds, 2 tens, 1 three.

I lead off with a bet and he calls. On the river, I pick up a four and again lead out - he calls.

He shows a flush made on 6th street. Comments? Maybe I'm just not giving my opponents enough credit - but generally trips are a good way to get started.
