In tournaments, limit and possibly 6-handed I think it is generally wrong to open-limp in LP, at a full table and PL or NL I think it's perfectly fine with a huge range of hands. I realise this is not the popular opinion but what is the case for "never" open limping here really?

I understand the arguments against limping in early position with a non-drawing hand (A9 is not really a draw like say 67s or 44).

However, at 25NL, I'm not that opposed to hit because your opponents are not advanced enough to put you on a hand.

The general problem here is you have a weak ace OOP. What are you going to do if the flop is A high, you CB, and he calls. Uh oh.

Incase you were wondering, he had 86o - the story of my poker life right now. Actually I have been experimenting unsuccessfully with losening up my play in LP and got burned on a few big hands, it makes you notice these situations more.

Generally I am raising any semi decent hand from the BB in the situation where only the button limps, often you take it down preflop, and if not, a cbet is probably more effective than if your positions were switched anyhow.

In response to t-rod, if he calls on an a high flop I am slowing down, however I would be surprised to see a stronger ace, anyone passive enough to limp AQ or similar is also likely to play passive postflop.
