again, if there was a mistake in hand 1 then I presume there is a mistake in hand 2 as well...

since I posted one hand already yesterday and got constructive reply and suggestion, I wonder if someone can help me with this ones.... I played these two hands today and tried to base my play on what I read in the reply to my previous hand...

Hand #1

First of all you should play full stacked unless you're using some sort of shortstack strategy or have some specific reason not to.

Preflop:
Not much to say, you can limp or raise, both are OK.

Post flop:
Good raise on the flop, however, on the turn you need to plan ahead. Either you push or you bet something that allows you to get away. On the river you could just fold it since you can't beat any hand and he is almost never bluffing here.

If your stack was a bit smaller or bigger this hand would have been easier for you to play.


Hand #2

Q9o should not be in your limping range in MP, dump it preflop.

On the flop, there's a bet AND a raise. Do you really think top pair with 3:d kicker is the best hand out of the 5 that saw the flop with the information you have? This is a very easy and very standard fold both pre and post flop.

ok.. i agree that I should have folded the Q9 PF ... but you do realize what they showed me at showdown?

In hand #2, 5 people saw the flop.

Against 4 opponents, on this board (with connected cards)...

How often do you think you have the best hand when someone bets and raises in front of you?

When you DO have the best hand *right now*, how often do you think you will have the best hand by the river (ie: how far ahead are you)?

When you DON'T have the best hand *right now*, how often do you think you will improve to the best hand by the river (ie: how far behind are you)?

Yeah you got it.

I said to push as much as you can (within reason).

On the turn, you bet $5, but the guy only had $7.45 left. You cant fold the river no matter what it is once you bet $5 and he calls, so just push.

There are lots of situations like this.

Another example....a guy raises to $1. He only has $7 left. You have AA. You could just call and then raise the flop all in which would trick him most of the time....but the normal play would be to reraise to about $3. Instead of raising to $3, just shove all in.

It looks like a buff and will get called alot of the time, but more importantly people get tired of this stuff and will start calling you with all sorts of marginal hands that they wouldnt call a normal vaule bet with.

acutally he had $6 more than me left... anyway, I see the point in pushing here... besides, with me having only $2.45 after that $5 bet means nothing to me on the river, and if I push on turn and he calls right there, I can get more money out of him potentially that way... right?
