Seems a little crazy to me. With that board bottom / middle aren't going to pay you off so I think the only thing that calls you is a made str8.

I call and hope to fill up, also I think this hand is too weak to play preflop.

At the $25 game, you should definitely buy in for max. If not, you need to play even tighter than normal, and I can't imagine a short-stack strategy being anything but horribly tedious at those stakes.

And even then, I agree with Goop about this hand. 77 needs a solid straight draw (like 7789 or such) or a nut flush draw of a different color than your 77 to be any good at all (like black 77 with AXs in hearts or diamonds), or you have 2 connecting pair like 7766 or something. I'll usually also play pretty much any 2 pair, but I doubt the little unconnected ones are actually profitable.

Then, on the flop, against good players it's a clear fold imo. At the $25, probably any draw to the nuts is worth pursuing due to implied odds, so I can deal with a call here, too. But you're calling to fill up. If you haven't done that by the river, then you have to muck.
