She. I think.
Been a while since I've updated this thing. Poker wise things have been pretty solid, I haven't added things up but I would guess that I'm up about $5k or so for the month. Not great but given my $5k disaster in the middle of it, I'm pretty pleased.
Yesterday was the longest day of poker I've ever played in my life. I woke up at 3am because my friend wanted to play in the Supernova $50k GTD Freeroll on my Stars account. So I watched him play and played some cash games of my own. We ended up getting 29th place or something for $160. Not bad. We went out with two hands pretty much back-to-back, TT < AK AIPF and KK < JJ AIPF - someone said they folded a J that hand too. A bit disappointing considering first was about $10k, but I felt my tournament game has improved a lot and I was making correct decisions about stealing/re-stealing.
Later that morning we went to play in a $100 Freezeout tournament at our local home game. We got 63 runners and I busted in 17th place, short of the money. I was doing real well for most of the tournament until I got completely card dead for a long while and busted when I pushed with 72s and got called by KQs which held up.
The cash game after that was interesting. We played 2/5 and most of the players there are pretty damn good. One of the guys is a regular 5/10 and 10/20 NL winner online and is good friends with Mark Vos. Anyway, I wasn't feeling well so I bought in short for $250. I then realized how stupid that was when I couldn't properly play some of my hands so I went for a walk and came back and rebought up to the max ($500).
I had some pretty bad luck and was down several hundred until I got 66 and doubled up off QTo when we got it in on a 986r flop. The game died down pretty soon and eventually I was played 4-handed with two of them being good players/friends (Matt and Nauv).I'm going down to Melbourne with for the Melbourne Champs at the end of April. Anyway, money basically was just thrown from one player to another, no really interesting hands come to mind. Eventually the other guy left and the three of us played Chinese Poker. I was stuck about $300 at the point we started the game and made it all back by the end. We started off playing $5 a point but soon after moved to $10. I wanted to play higher but only Matt would, so I was playing $10 a point with Nauv and $20 with Matt. It wasn't too complicated as we used chips instead of writing the scores down.
We also had an interesting new rule that they had introduced me to (they made it up a few days before), where they would deal four hands out and each player would get their own. If they wanted to, they could 'buy' the other hand by giving two points to each of the other players. Interesting.
Anyway, I made back my losses and ended the day (of live poker) down like $20. Felt like such a waste of time. I made maybe $1,000 playing online in the morning though.
Today I played a bunch of donkaments and did pretty poorly in them. I got 2nd in a 2-7 TD one which only had 11 players. I didn't cash in any others. I think I'll play a fairly big cash game session tonight, I haven't done that in a while.
Oh, and I <3 Party Poker.

Poker is silly.
It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.
Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
