i think it's actually a better chance that he has KK here, that would explain a min raise preflop, and the checking action, and your checks would make him think that you don't have an A either so he might figure you took your shot on the river with middle pair or something. there is a chance that he has AA but you have to call it man, at least for future reads
I have a question for you, if he would have bet normally 3/4 pot on flop, then another decent bet on the turn, and river etc, would you have check called all the way?
if you plan to play like that vs this kind of a fool then just fold the damned Q's to the minraise, no offense but you should stack off here most of the times
at least bet the turn to see how he reacts, and don't bet the river if you trust your read, if you really think he has AA there's no reason to give him more $
and you have to give some action to get some , if you call on the river and some regulars see how you played middle set, they might never give you action , when you show real strength
anyway, i seriously would not post this kind of a hand, it will only get you the type of responses that you got(a bit to harsh, even if they were joking), and you can't really blame them

I don't think it's any kind of problem posting this kind of hand. Actually, a good while back, mainly to try to get my game in order, I made it a point to post every single hand where I thought I had played poorly--and it did motivate me to play better due to the fear of self-inflicted embarassment.

And, while there's no question in my mind that playing the hand this way is WAY too WT, I think it's actually important for anyone to feel free to post hands they have questions on.

Finally, as to the giving action to get some, I think that saying is at least somewhat over-used. No one at the table knows what he actually had, and for all they know he could've been trying to fire a bluff with JJ or something. If you think it's a fold, then, yes, you should fold. I just don't think this is, certainly not for that kind of money, and I'd personally be willing to pursue it for a lot more than that.

about the action thing, it might be over-used but still makes sense, I tell you for sure, if I am at the table and he calls down with the set of Q's in that spot, i would either think he's a genius if the guy had AA or I would say, damn this guy is a super extra solid rock, and i would not engage him in big pots without nuts or close to it, at least till I get some other read on him

I mean, even the most affable, good-natured BTPer is going to have his baser 2+2 instincts piqued by something like this.

As played, I can't imagine not paying the $13 to see his hand. Even a tight passive will show up with a worse hand (AK, AQ, KK, random awkward bluff etc...) often enough to make this call.

I 100% believe that strong then weak then strong is a monster.
I 100% believe that river minimum raises are monsters.
I have been called weak-tight, and I often look for reasons to fold.

But there is no way I fold this river to the minimum raise, without a crazy good read on the guy.

I think it may be possible to have this kind of read online. In fact, there may be 1-2 players against whom I could fold this. But to have that kind of read, you have to have played a very large number of hands against the guy. And if you've played that many hands against him, you're probably going to play against him a bunch more in the future.

So say you think he has AA here 90% of the time. I think making a slightly -EV call in that situation would be worth it, just to get confirmation on the read, so you can play better against him in the future.
