Playing at a local card room called the Palomar Club. Sit down at the $2-3 game, buy-in for the full $300. I play rock-tight, double up to $550 or so with top-two pair and get moved to another table.
Nothing too eventful, I've swung up and down $50 or so when I get K-K UTG. The table has been somewhat tight but one guy has been raising a lot, so I decided to limp raise - if they all limp and a bad flop comes, I wouldn't get too committed.
Flop comes K-6[d]3[d].
I lead $10 into a $12 pot, he insta-calls.
Turn is a 5[d].
I check, he checks behind and gives me a look like "why would I ever want to bet a diamond (my first thought was that this guy has watched "Rounders" too many times and thinks he can "act" at the table).
River is an offsuit 9.
I lead $15 into a pot of $32, he raises to $40, I fold.
Is this too tight or should I stick with my read since there is no way he could have anything on the flop but a flush draw (since the fourth King on the flop is just so unlikely - plus, why would he raise the river for value with K-Q or K-J? Doesn't make sense)?
