Same Villian (35/12 ish) and effective stacks of $100 in both hands, different tables. He seems unremarkable.

Hand 1

I raise to $4 with [Ac][Tc], BB calls

Flop: ($9.50) [As][9c][8c]
BB checks, I bet $7, BB raises to $20

Hand 2

I raise to $4 with [Kd][Qd], SB calls

Flop: ($9) [Kc][Td][6d]
SB bets $7

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

These hands look mighty similar to a post I read earlier today on another forum.

That said, I would mix in both calls and raises in both hands. Hand 1 especially I would re-raise most of the time, sometimes to $50ish, others I would just push. Hand 2 I would call or raise based on how the game has been flowing and on my image.

IMO Both of these hands (especially hand 1) are meta-game impacting. I want to show villain in hand 1 that he can't C/R me with impunity, so this is a great spot to shove or 3-bet. He may fold a hand we are flipping with (AK/AQ).

Bottom line...as long as you don't fold, no play is going to be clearly more +EV with either of these hands.

"#3 pencils and quadrille pads."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when asked what CAD tools he used to design the Cray I supercomputer; he also recommended using the back side of the pages so that the grid lines were not so dominant.

"Interesting - I use a Mac to help me design the next Cray."
- Seymoure Cray (1925-1996) when he was told that Apple Inc. had recently bought a Cray supercomputer to help them design the next Mac.

This is somewhat site and table dependent. I'm usually playing at a slightly tighter table than typical so my advice is slanted towards that type of opponent.

Hand 1) I call and almost never push here. Yes I know you have TP and the nut FD, but I've found that you are up against a set very often here. I tracked this once and I ran into a set 9 of 10 times (granted small sample).

I think because you have an Ace, it's less likely he has one and it's more likely he's gonig crazy with something else. You have the T[c] which blocks some of the draws too.

Your hand is still super strong so I'm leaning towards calling and looking to read the turn.

Hand 2) I'm flat calling here. I agree with UA that villain is often weak or on a draw because very few people are going to lead into the pfr full pot. VERY few. So I'm calling and betting if he slows down.

I shove hand #1 and call in hand #2

#1) If you call and the turn is the [5d] what do you do? If you bet and get raised what do you do? If you check and he makes a big bet, you probably have 13 outs (maybe only 9). Your TP is almost always no good. I think you need to shove the flop which youre still at least a coin flip most of the time and while he still might fold AJ

#2) You almost always have the best hand and best draw so Im fine with just calling. He probably has 2 outs. I raise the turn if he bets again.

FWIW, I think villain has AJ/AQ in hand 1 very, very rarely at these stakes.

Most AJs and AQs at these stakes will just flat call because they can't bring themselves to fold their TPGK but they don't really feel confident enough to raise without any A[c] etc. (I think this is wrong btw, but I think its how most play it)
