I actually have a hand this time!

Postby iceman5 » Sun May 13, 2007 7:17 am

2/5 live. Im running over the table with my new found LAGiness. Ive shown several complete bluffs. Ive tilted 2 guys already. One of them wanted to fight me and the floor had to be called.

T-Rod, why does that always happen to me? The only thing I said to the guy was "I have you beat but Im gonna let you have it cuz I dont know what the other guy has". At the end of the hand I said "NH, I knew I had you beat but you outplayed me". He showed down Q7 on a J7xxx board. I really had 72 though and had raised preflop with it. He got pissed but it was really because I stacked him earlier.

Ive raised 54s...bet a AQ7 flop and got called...checked thru on a J turn...and fired away on a T river....then showed it.

I had T5 and check raised a river on a K59Q3 board after it got checked to the river. There was a bet, I call and then I CR it....and showed after i took it down.

Another hand there was a $20 raise and I made it $200. You should of heard the yapping at that table 8-)

You get the idea. These guys are tired of it.

So the hand.....I limp [5s][6s] UTG. Theres a 95% the pot wont get raised. It limps 5 ways.

Pot $25. Flop [Qd][7h][8d]. Checked to the button who bets $20. I call as does MP.
Pot $85. Turn [4c].

Hey, Kenny...I have the nuts! What do I do? They have about $350 each and I cover.

If you were in MP's seat I would go for the check/raise, but here I prefer betting, something like $70. Best case scenario, MP calls with a flush draw, button raises with top pair and you can push.

If you get called, push any non-diamond river.

Lets say I bet $70 and MP folds and button calls. You think I can push $280 on the river and he'll call with his most likely KQ type hand?

Not only is that an over bet of the pot, but as was mentioned a few days ago, live players think in terms of "actual amount of the bet" as oppossed to "size of bet compared to pot size". $280 is a HUGE bet in this game. If he calls that its because he thinks I have nothing at all. Nobody in this game has had the balls to call my bets yet and I havent come close to shoving $280 in on the river yet..

Well I've never played at a casino so I don't know, but $280 into a $220 pot in a 2/5 game doesn't seem like a huge bet and I would make it to exploit your image. I think there's a good chance he will "take a stand" and call you with top pair, and if he has two-pair or better it's almost a given.

Say you bet $90, you'd have to get called three times as often to make that more profitable. So if he'll call an overbet only 1/4, he'll have to call your smaller bet 75% of the time for it to be better. I would think he'll call an overbet close to 50% of the time, and a smaller bet maybe 75% of the time, meaning an overbet is more profitable. And of course, even if you don't get called, the whole table will be affected and your already good image will improve even more.

$280 may be too much to call but the $70 lead on the turn sets you up to lead $150 on the rive rand he might just say "f3ck it" and push for the last $130 over.

Though based on your image you'd think it would be almost a certainty that you could get away with a check-raise here, since the table probably adjusts to your river bluffs by trying to force you out on the turn.

However, because there or so many draws on board that beat you and they have you pegged as a LAG, you might get raised huge here by K-Q/Q-J. With your image it would seem like a bad idea to go for the CR because they are gonna call/raise your lead if they were gonna bet it anyways (based on your table image).

Bet 90, bet 150 on the river. Going for a check-raise is so criminal here at a passive table.
