So I haven't posted in awhile as I haven't been playing that much and never seem to get into any interesting hands. Then this gem of a hand came up last night.
Two villians in this one. Villian 1 just joined the table a few orbits ago. He was involved in a nice hand a few hands back where when he made a big raise on a 2296 board. Opp folded citing someone told him that he was the "tightest player in New York" (hereby TPNY) - to which he proceeded to flip over a T5o. From what I've seen, he seems pretty solid, though he's certainly not a rock (he's played maybe 20-25% of his hands - which actually is pretty tight for the table).
Villian 2 is a maniac. He calls with everything from gutshots to backdoor flush draws to bottom pair and pays off with top pair or better pretty much always. He likes makes big river bets when draws get there (regardless of whether he has said draw). This hasn't been working out particularly well for him tonight as he is getting picked off on a lot of his bluffs (including several times by me). He also has a history of not raising the nuts on the flop/turn which has caused him to get sucked out on a couple of times.
I've been raising fair amount (including showing garbage a couple of times), but have generally been a lucksack and have a huge stack now.
7 handed.
TPNY (But) ~ 700
Maniac (UTG) ~ 900
I cover (MP)
I raise to 30 after 2 limpers with 2h2c. 3 callers.
Flop 2d4s7d. Checked to me - I bet 60. TPNY calls, Maniac calls.
Turn 6s. Checks to me, I bet 120. (I'm a little bit sick typing this as I didn't realize at the time how big the pot was here) TPNY raises to 280. Maniac cold calls! Back to me. You can make a case for pretty much anything.
1) Fold - TPNY has a higher set here too much to get involved in what will become a huge pot.
2) Call - TPNY could have a lot of combo draw/2p type hands and maybe maniac lucked into a straight, but I have odds to boat up.
3) Push - Too many draws to just call here plus I have a freakin set.
So BTP, what should I have done?
