I have 254$ in the hand and villain has me covered. He is running at 30/4.3/3.3after 400 hands. Seems a bit loose but he is not too fishy or anything. A somewhat capable player
Villian limps in utg, its folded to me in OTB and i raise to 10$.
He is the only caller.

He checks I decide to CB to standard 17$. He just calls.

Turn
Pot: 57$
He checks i check. No point in betting

River
Pot: 57$
He checks i decide to VB 24$ to get a possible call from a lower PP or any Jx Qx Kx.
He insta raises me to 120$. Hero? Is there any point in betting that river?

I think betting or checking this flop is fine - I mix in both.

However, I like betting the turn and disagree with your comment that there is no point in betting. There are a ton of draws that you can charge - your hand isnt that strong, but its better than a lot of villians range.

As played, the river is a check. I can't put him on a hand that you beat that would call. Fold to the CR.
