Villian is 56/28/5 and is just utterly lagging it up.

I limp planning to lrr [Kc][Kd]. Effective stacks 274 (I cover). He raises OTB to 24...I only call. His raise says big cards/big pair to me here (he hadn't been raising this hard normally...).

Flop [7s][5d][4c], I check he quickly fires pot 54, I CRAI...thoughts?

I like it also. There are too many middle cards that are going to scare him...or beat you if they hit the turn.

As stated already, you get called by lower overpairs if you do it now. I would wait if the flop was more dry like J62.
