How do you deal with a minimum bet or a minimum raise from your opponent? My guestion is pretty simple although there are definitely numerous features which have to be considered. For example, what kind of player you are against and what the board looks like. In generally though minimum or small bet is a rather weak play. As I have learned from this forum there are no reasons to bet the minimum or anything else than the full pot. However, specially at the very very low stakes, at which I'm playing, there are always people using minimum bets and raises. If you are confronted with a player like that how do you deal with him/her?
I guess you first have to find out with what he is min-raising. But let's assume the player is unknown to you. The hand below is an example of one of them. Would you have attacked and raised on the flop? My two pair was not that strong but neither was his bet. While there was a few possible draws on the turn I believed I had the best hand because it was checked to me. However, river card could have completed a straight and villain could easily have had one, so I checked the river.
