I think you should start out at NL5 or NL10, play a few tables at a time, and get used to understanding the differences between NL and LHE. Plus, it's really hard to lose money at these levels...the players are pretty horrible. Getting comfortable with the game is a step that was really important to me as well...and the lowest limits is a good place to start.
