so you called with a gutshot and backdoor flush draw? I thought you were a pro and not a lucky fish?

stats and some other things
Current mood: blah

Last week's stats:

All 2/4 NL
Cash Games Count : 6
Total Amount : $1,594.19
Total Hours : 6h 30m
Average per Hour : $245.26
Wins : 6
Losses : 0
Std. Dev. (Amount) : $234.32

I didn't put in many hours...but I didn't need to, really. Was very happy with how much I was up and decided to take a much needed break.

Monday:

Today I played for an hour and 45 minutes and made $705. Yeah that's right. $705. That is crazy. Stupid. Insane. heh. I even started off losing $100 on the first hand. I alos lost a set over set. How the hell do I win anyway? :)

I had a very interesting suckout which is posted here: forum/viewtopic.php?t=3359

I've looked over that hand and right now I believe my play was solid..though I'm curious as to what the people on BTP think.

Here is a big hand where I was outplayed (this hasn't happened often lately.) I give a lot of credit to my opponent..though had i now he was a LAG gambler..I might have called.

2/4 NL
i'm dealt KK UTG. I limp. couple of limpers...button (opponent) raises to $14. I reraised to $42. Only the button calls.

FLOP $90
A J 9o

I check (trying to represnt AA). Opponent bets $50. I call. (I should have check-raised or folded here. bad play kenny.)

TURN $190
A J 9 8

I check. Opponent moves in for about $300. I fold.

He shows KQo for a gutshot straight draw.

I really wanted to call..that was m first instinct...I mean..people normally don't move all-in like that. But I had a nagging feeling about AK or JJ.

Anyway, I'm not really unhappy about it. I can find much better situations to make money. My opponent beat me with his betting, fair and square.

Another note...I've decided at the end of this month, I'm going to stop posting my money figures. I know people find them interesting...but it's getting to the point where I'm feeling uncomfortable posting the money I'm bringing in. I don't want people to think that I'm trying to showoff or something.

Poker has been kind to me lately. I think my aggressive style with drawing hands is paying off big time.

Hey kenny--

Not postin the figures anymore huh? Dude- dont worry, no one thinks your bragging. And believe me, when you drop 2 grand in a week, which hopefully you wont but more than likely you someday will, your gonna want to bitch about it, and tell all of us just exactly how much you lost, and all the ugly circumstances under which it happened. And anyway, its nice to see someone postin some big numbers...

Nice finish
Current mood: awake

Tuesday:
2/4 NL
3 Hours
-$89.10

Started off this session decently. Then all of a sudden no hands would hit. My flop percentage must have been huge today. Pocket pairs all over the place..and great LP hands.

They just sucked and sucked my money...then two ugly outdraws and one bad play put me down around $400.

Luckily I hit a gutshot on a monster hand and moved all-in for $300 (trying to look like a bluff) and the guy called. hah he only held two pair and 4 to the straight was out. :)

I would have been up about $800, but had two fold two pocket pairs that would have flopped sets. Sadly, they were raised and reraised preflop and I never got decent enough odds to call.

I'm happy with my play. I only made one bad move...it was a bluff with second pair. I don't normally make plays like that with few outs...I need to reexamine some moves I'm making. They will cost me in the long run.

My computer froze twice today while I was in hands.

good luck tommorow kenny! :)

Moving
Current mood: exhausted

I haven't been playing much lately; I moved to Charlotte today finally.

I will finish most of the things I need to do tommorow (dust, buy more stuff, set up my bedroom etc etc) so I probably won't play then either.

I think this whole transition of getting a new roommate and moving, may have a negative result on my play. I'm gonna wait till everything calms down a little.

Good idea?

Kennardo,

I agree that it's not a good time to play when you have a major-life-happening going on. It's kind of unavoidable that being in a completely new environment will have a negative effect on your focus, so I think you're best off waiting a bit. In addition, if you go a couple days without playing, you'll probably build up a bit of a "hunger" that will help you play at your best. At least, that's the way it seems to work for me.

a new place.
Current mood: lethargic

Here are my stats for last week, all at 2/4NL:
Cash Games Count : 3
Total Amount : $799.40
Total Hours : 5h 0m
Average per Hour : $159.88
Wins : 2
Losses : 1
Std. Dev. (Amount) : $329.46

I only played 5 hours for the week. Not a big deal. I still made a decent amount of money. I didn't want to play because of all the stress of moving blah blah. Didn't want to affect my play negatively.

I've got in a little over 7 hours this week so far, and hope to finish with 20. I'm only up about $70...but that's good.. because I started down about $500 on sunday and monday.

Lately, I have seen the most rediculous turn and river cards come out. I knew a bad streak had to happen. But I'm not worried about it. I'm still not making many mistakes and overall I'm happy with my play. There is one instance where I really question a bet and call I made...but other then that it's all good.

Can't wait till my cards start hitting again. :)

Bring on June
Current mood: determined

Bring on June. After succesfully making April my bitch, I only made May a semi-bitch. eh...I just didn't have enough time with all the moving, gf stuff, etc etc. My mindset wasn't really there either...so I'm kinda glad I didn't play in the first place.

Today I bought in 4 hours for the last session of the month. Talk about up and down! I was up over $1100 in the first hour...and 4 hours later ended up only $180. But what can you do? I played well...but losing to two outers and flushes will kill a session. Set over sets will too.

I posted three significant hands on BTP:
forum/viewtopic.php?t=3706
forum/viewtopic.php?t=3707

My stats overall for the month of may (my semi-bitch)
Cash Games Count : 25
Total Amount : $4,192.54
Total Hours : 39h 45m
Average per Hour : $105.47
Wins : 20
Losses : 5
Std. Dev. (Amount) : $287.00

I also pulled in $600 bonus cash.

My goal for June...and an attainable one at that....is 20 hours a week and $8000 for the month. (with or without bonuses...i don't care.)

Sorry everyone...but I will no longer be posting my money stats. To make you feel better...I will post charts with no numbers instead...so you can view my money progress. Now I just need to figure out how :)

Later all...hope anyone who actally reads this is doing well.

Nice numbers for may, and it was only your "semi-bitch" lol
Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.
