I'm really low on chips. The BB was even shorter. If I raise this all-in, the BB might fold and some other guy might crush me. I didn't want that. So I just called. Is my hand even good enough to call? I sure didn't want the shortie to get a walk.

Postflop, with a straight draw and middle set, and possibly the option to counterfeit a better low with a lucky catch, I cannot get away from this?

hhhmmm... where to start?

- first, i'm not really a plo8 tourney guy, so keep that in mind. that being said, i think there are some general principles i can comment on.

- the payout structure iinfo would be nice. likewise with your own personal BR needs and wants (e.g., want to win or want to move up?).

- reads would be nice. specifically, is the sb and/or bb calling stations or weak-tighties?

- if you think a pfr will likely get the pot HU with the BB all-in, then i'd do it. actually, regardless of BBs short stack, i like a pfr here -- you don't want the blinds seeing the flop with junk and having no idea where you're at.

- on the flop, as played, i can think of a lot of flops i'd rather see -- non-low, non-str8, and rainbow come to mind.

- i think this is a tough flop to play -- you're probably playing for half (in fact, you were barring a 2 falling) and are getting freerolled. i'd be much more tempted to try to call the flop and bet turn scare cards (esp. A and 2... maybe flush cards). again, this depends on your reads.

- i like the fact that you got the money in as the aggressor, but i think i would prefer a better spot (i.e., a different hand). when you get bet into with a made low out there and a heavily coordinated board, you have to think that you're going to get called. i would prefer to use my stack to get people to fold rather than get it in for showdown value. yes, i'm trying to say that even folding wouldn't necessarily be bad if you think you can pick up some blinds in the next hand or two (i.e., people aren't calling down with garbage). babafats is the 2nd short stack and the bb next hand, and he probably won't call a pfr with junk.
