Sunday was a bad night for me. For whatever reason, I woke up and it was destined to be a bad day. I wasn't in a good mood, I had a slight headache, and I'd have rather jumped off the Stratosphere than play any poker.

So obviously I played. Adam and Nick were playing in TI and convinced me to join in on the fun. I was tilting as soon as I sat. I remember calling $70 cold trying to hit an ace on the turn or river. I was Straddling constantly for $15 or $20 in a 1/3 game. The money didn't seem real to me. I just wanted to donk around and drink.

The sad part is I even sucked out a few times. I still lost almost $1400... IN A 1/3 GAME!!!! $1400!!!! Amazingly that's a bigger loss than I've ever taken in my regular uncapped 2/5 game. After sitting at the bar drinking water trying to sober out and being hit on by a hooker, ("Why are you sitting alone handsome?"), I drove home. In disgust, I starting pounding and throwing shit all over the apartment. I had a splitting blood pressure headache to boot.

If I'm ever in a mood like that again; I will not go anywhere near a poker table. Better to just make a big pile of my bankroll and burn it in a bonfire. At least then I'd have more fun. MVP and Twelver should have made me leave that game.


In better news, my next session went extremely well. I hit a bunch of sets and they all held. I made that loss back and more. It was a pretty thing to behold and certainly put me in a great mood.

I had one interesting hand where I made an incorrect fold. I haven't played in a while so I didn't totally trust my intuition. I should have.

I check. He insta allins for my last $460. My first instinct is to call. I tried to find a tell to confirm but there was nothing I could get a read on. Eventually I called the clock on myself and folded. He showed [9s] for rags. Why do I always ignore my instincts?! No more.


I find this hand interesting in the fact that I think it's unpostable on the normal forums. Many of my hands are like that, which is why I find myself posting less and less in the NL Hold'em Forum. The river was a complete judgment call. I'm sure some would give me advice on check-raising the flop or turn (I like the turn better), which is fine, but really why bother posting this?

It's been a pretty crazy weekend. My sleeping schedule is completely whack again. I'm getting in good hours at the table and the gym though. I'm looking forward to my days off after the insane tables I've been on.

I met Ice and Trod. Both are cool guys and good poker players. It's obvious to me Ice is yearning to move to Vegas. Trod smilies all the time, which I can understand, since his finance is hot. hehe.

Anyway, the last 3 sessions I've had were nutso. Each session started with me being down $1k or more. My session at the Wynn had a couple of drunk pros throwing money around as if it were a $25 NL game. My session at MGM was amazing because it was so incredibly weak/passive/loose. It may have been the most lucrative game I've ever played in. Then I go to the Venetian with MVP last night, only to find another incredible table.

We all flip our cards over. I have the nuts obv. UTG+1 A9 top and bottom. UTG+2 AK top two.

Bunch of limpers. I raise to $35 with [Qs] from the BB. Folds to 3rd limpers who raises to $140 with $250 left. I think he's weak and his play makes no sense. I push. He calls with [5h] flops a set on a rainbow board and I'm drawing dead. This one pissed me off a lot because it was so nonsensical.

hehehehehe. perfect card. I check. PFR bets $50. Button folds after a long time. I raise to $200 straight. PFR pushes for $700 total with his mighty [Th]. River doesn't matter and I win a very nice pot. (BTW, this was the guy who limp reraised with 55 and called my allin preflop. It made it even more rewarding)

With all my heart I yearn for a Jack. My whole body ached for that damn jack.

As I said, the games have been insane! These aren't all the crazy hands I've had either. There's too many to post. I've run into a couple of bad beats as you can see and it looks like my weekend will end up being a small win. Good thing I won a ton on Thursday.
