Three's a crowd?

Okay - here's a sequence of four hands at my stud table the other night. I'm pretty sure there's something to comment about each of them, so let's just start with the hands:

I'm down about $30 on this table and have $30 left in my stack. The table is $1/$2 stud with a $.25 ante and $.50 bring in. In the first hand there are 7 players, and here's the layout:

Seat 1 ($75.75 in chips)
Seat 3 ($59.50 in chips)
Seat 4 ($52.75 in chips)
Seat 5 ($98.75 in chips)
Seat 6 ($27.75 in chips)
Seat 7: starsteal ($30.25 in chips)
Seat 8 ($187.96 in chips)

Seats 1 and 5 are both calling stations if they play the hand, seat 8 is a solid player - but he folds on 3rd anyway (so he's not involved here).

On third:

dealt to Seat 1 [6d]
dealt to Seat 3 [9h]
dealt to Seat 4 [6c]
dealt to Seat 5 [5s]
dealt to Seat 6 [Ks]
dealt to starsteal [3s] [3d] [Td]
dealt to Seat 8 [9c]

seat 5 bring's in, 6 calls, I call (bad move? yes), seat 8 folds, 1 and 3 both call and 4 folds. We see 4th with 5 players.

dealt to Seat 1 [6d][Qc]
dealt to Seat 3 [9h][6h]
dealt to Seat 5 [5s][Tc]
dealt to Seat 6 [Ks][Qd]
dealt to starsteal [3s] [3d] [Td][3c]

bingo - have my trips - time to start pushing...

seat 6 checks, I bet, seat 1 calls, 3 folds, 5 folds and 6 calls.

5th street is a little scary:

dealt to Seat 1 [6d] [Qc][Ad]
dealt to Seat 6 [Ks] [Qd][Kh]
dealt to starsteal [3s] [3d] [Td] [3c][2c]

6 leads out, I call, and 1 calls.

6th street is bittersweet:

dealt to Seat 1 [6d] [Qc] [Ad][4h]
dealt to Seat 6 [Ks] [Qd] [Kh][Kc]
dealt to starsteal [3s] [3d] [Td] [3c] [2c][Th]

and I call another bet from 1 (6 folds).

On the river, I don't improve and he checks. I bet - he calls. Final pot: 10 BB.

This hand was hard to play because 6 could have had a boat at 6th without a problem and I am working on not being as aggressive when someone pairs their door card. Would anyone have played this differently? I probably should've just folded on third... Hey - I'm happy I won though...

Next hand (and yes, this is the very next hand):

Seat 1: ($72 in chips)
Seat 2: ($113.43 in chips)
Seat 3: ($58.75 in chips)
Seat 4: ($52.50 in chips)
Seat 5: ($98 in chips)
Seat 6: ($20 in chips)
Seat 7: starsteal ($42.75 in chips)
Seat 8: ($187.71 in chips)

Seat 2 is new obviously (buying in for 113.43? his whole bankroll on Interpoker?). Here's third:

dealt to Seat 1 [2h]
dealt to Seat 2 [Th]
dealt to Seat 3 [Js]
dealt to Seat 4 [8c]
dealt to Seat 5 [9h]
dealt to Seat 6 [2c]
dealt to starsteal [Ah] [8d] [8s]
dealt to Seat 8 [Kh]

seat 6 brings-in, I call (again - bad move? yes), 8 folds, 1 calls and the rest fold. We see 4th 3-handed.

----- 4th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [2h][Ac]
dealt to Seat 6 [2c][9s]
dealt to starsteal [Ah] [8d] [8s][Tc]

Nothing too threatening - so when 1 leads out, and 6 calls - I just call.

----- 5th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [2h] [Ac][3s]
dealt to Seat 6 [2c] [9s][4c]
dealt to starsteal [Ah] [8d] [8s] [Tc][Jd]

Again - nothing too big and now both players check to me. I lead out and they both call.

----- 6th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [2h] [Ac] [3s][8h]
dealt to Seat 6 [2c] [9s] [4c][2d]
dealt to starsteal [Ah] [8d] [8s] [Tc] [Jd][9c]

Well, my case 8 has just fallen and 6 just paired his doorcard - but now I've got a straight draw to go with my eights.

6 checks, I bet and they both call.

On the river, I pick up another ten (two pair) and 6 checks again. I bet, 1 now raises, 6 folds and I just call (completely mistified as to what he'd be raising with).

He shows trip threes and takes the 12.5 BB pot.

Next! (again, very next hand...)

Seat 1: ($87.50 in chips)
Seat 2: ($113.18 in chips)
Seat 3: ($58.50 in chips)
Seat 4: sits out
Seat 5: ($97.75 in chips)
Seat 6: ($14.25 in chips)
Seat 7: starsteal ($33 in chips)
Seat 8: ($187.46 in chips)

seat 4 sits out, but otherwise, nothing has really changed. Here's third street - notice my choice starting hand again?

----- 3rd STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [7c]
dealt to Seat 2 [8h]
dealt to Seat 3 [4h]
dealt to Seat 5 [8d]
dealt to Seat 6 [Kc]
dealt to starsteal [As] [3c] [3h]
dealt to Seat 8 [2d]

seat 8 brings in, 1 calls, 2 and 3 both fold, 5 and 6 both call and I call (here it is a marginal case - but I still think I'm probably better off folding...)

----- 4th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [7c][4s]
dealt to Seat 5 [8d][9d]
dealt to Seat 6 [Kc][5h]
dealt to starsteal [As] [3c] [3h][9s]
dealt to Seat 8 [2d][7d]

To me - this is about as bad a 4th street for everyone that I can think of. seats 5 and 7 might be drawing to flushes - but their drawing to the same one and everyone else seems to be bricking. seat 6 checks, I lead out and only seat 8 folds.

----- 5th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [7c] [4s][Js]
dealt to Seat 5 [8d] [9d][Ts]
dealt to Seat 6 [Kc] [5h][Ks]
dealt to starsteal [As] [3c] [3h] [9s][3d]

6 pairs his doorcard and still checks, I lead out with my trips and now 1 folds. 5 and 6 both call.

----- 6th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 5 [8d] [9d] [Ts][4d]
dealt to Seat 6 [Kc] [5h] [Ks][6d]
dealt to starsteal [As] [3c] [3h] [9s] [3d][Jd]

6 checks again and I bet. 5 still calls and 6 folds! (with kings showing?)

On the river, I don't boat up and pick up the [8s]. I bet - my opponent calls and mucks. I take the 10.5BB pot.

Last hand - yes very next hand again...

Seat 1: ($85.75 in chips)
Seat 2: ($112.93 in chips)
Seat 3: ($58.25 in chips)
Seat 5: ($90 in chips)
Seat 6: ($10.50 in chips)
Seat 7: starsteal ($46.50 in chips)
Seat 8: ($186.71 in chips)

----- 3rd STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [Ts]
dealt to Seat 2 [7d]
dealt to Seat 3 [Kc]
dealt to Seat 5 [Ad]
dealt to Seat 6 [3d]
dealt to starsteal [8h] [8c] [3c]
dealt to Seat 8 [2s]

seat 8 brings in and gets 3 callers to me - I call as well (bad move again? yes)

----- 4th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [Ts][3s]
dealt to Seat 2 [7d][Qd]
dealt to Seat 5 [Ad][9c]
dealt to starsteal [8h] [8c] [3c][8s]
dealt to Seat 8 [2s][As]

bingo! seat 5 checks, I bet and seat 8 raises, seat 1 calls, 2 and 5 both fold and I just call (bad move? not sure - probably yes).

----- 5th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [Ts] [3s][Jc]
dealt to starsteal [8h] [8c] [3c] [8s][Jd]
dealt to Seat 8 [2s] [As][9s]

seat 8 leads out, seat 1 calls, I raise and they both just call (helps me believe that seat 8 doesn't have the flush yet).

----- 6th STREET -----
dealt to Seat 1 [Ts] [3s] [Jc][Ks]
dealt to starsteal [8h] [8c] [3c] [8s] [Jd][5d]
dealt to Seat 8 [2s] [As] [9s][8d]

seat 8 checks, seat 1 bets, I just call (?), seat 8 calls.

On the river, I pick up the [6h] and call seat 1's bet, as does seat 8.

Seat 1 shows a straight to the ace and we both muck. He takes a 16BB pot.

So you notice that all of these hands are in the realm of huh? I had trips in all four and won only two of them. Anyone care to comment on the horrible play? Anyone think that these are perfectly fine (I don't think so)?

Go ahead and have some fun with it.
