Move to $1/2NL FR on Stars?

Postby DaveRed » Sat Jun 23, 2007 10:19 pm

I'm curious if anyone here who plays $1/2 on Stars that recently moved up from $.5/1?
I've been playing $.5/1 (excellently), and want to know if it's worth moving up.

I played a few times (I have the bankroll, $6500 in my stars account now), and noticed a lot of regulars there. I'd lose a few stacks (set over set, overpair vs flush draw, etc), got frustrated and moved back down. Also saw a lot more reraising/agression at $1/2. I'm sure I could beat it, but at $.5/1 I'm at $129/hr (12 tabling).

Posted my stats below, just wanna know if it's even worth it to move up if I'm just killing $.5/1 stress free.

Any input? Here are my June stats (after losing 2 stacks w/AA pf a second ago, and got tilted, so I figured I'd post here instead of losing more).

Note: Reason my 6max VPIP is so low is cause I was shortstacking...

Take 800 and give it a go...drop back down when it's gone, or a week goes by (whichever comes first). If the week goes by and you're earning more/hr than you are at 100NL, enjoy...if not, move back down...rinse, and repeat.

It seems a personal choice. However, I think you need more than 15K hands to really know where you are at. You are indeed killing the game, but it looks like you are running super hot.

Your tight style probably won't work as well as you move up also. It will still work, just not as well.

I guess ultimately it depends on what your goals are.

If it is a goal to move up and make more money, then do so. If you want a decent income stress free, then stay put.

Personally, I would try to move up. If you are good enough, eventually NL200 will be stress free and you'll make more money.

well thats my question. will i? if the players are better at 200nl, i wont... is it easy for a solid player to consistently beat 200nl at 4ptbb/100? im not looking to be a "pro". i just enjoy making some $ over the summer of college.

played 1600 hands today at 1.5ptbb/100 at $200nl. obv small sample (and i got stacked twice w/AA in rereised pots both times when they flopped sets...sdkflslfj), but the game def seems like a lot more regulars/aggressive.

nobody here plays .5/1 or 1/2 full ring stars?

i play a bit of 2/4 FR and the games are basically a nitfest with a few donks thrown into the mix every now and then. it's a gold mine.
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
