Flop comes 3-6-7 (rainbow)
At this point I am not very happy, as i have just hit the nuts and the pot is very low, but could turn into a big pot seeing he didnt raise the blind, so he might have a low card that he feels like playing.
He checks and I put in a pot bet....and get instantly raised to 3x BB.
NOW I AM HAPPY...
Turn is a 9
he checks, and i bet $10....he thinks for a bit then moves all in for $86 more.
I am kind of puzzled at this point, but am sure I have the best hand, as he wouldn't go all in if he had me covered.
So I call and he shows me 5-8...
I am gutted and couldn't believe my luck. Did I play this wrong or was that just a bad beat?

This is clearly just a bad beat.
Still, If my math is correct the pot is $28 on the turn and you bet $10. If you want to get his last $96 (when you are ahead as you will be like 95% of the time), you need to bet more. His C/R indicates he is very interested in this pot so I would bet stronger. Bet $22, then the pot is $72 for the river and you can shove without overbetting.
