Hi,
I just ordered High Roller, Stu Ungar story after I read some articles about his life in Cardplayer.
It seems that his life, style play, habits are very controversial but I like his blue glasses.

I'll try to make a short review after I see it.

I hate to dissapoint you but the Stu Unger movie is terrible. Not because there is not enough poker in it. I can live with that. But the way the movie was made is just..well it's not good. The acting is not very well done, the soundtrack is terrible and the pace of the film is poor. I don't know what else to say. I could give you a more discriptive run down of the film but I would rather you watch it first and then post what you think. As far as poker movies go, I found a great list of them here: http://www.playwinningpoker.com/poker/movies/ by Steve Badger, a professional poker player. The articles on his site are worth the visit alone but check out his poker movie list and you may find some other movies that are much better then the Stu Unger film.

I liked the movie. Probably because I'm a NY neurotic Jew similiar to Stuie. I also have a drug habit but it's a soft drug habit. Nevertheless, I relate to the guy...lots of poker, lots of partying, lots of girls, not keeping money in the bank because I'm paranoid..but that's just me

Well, sos not to hijack the thread, ill just say that i liked the stu ungar movie. It was a little like tilt in that it was a bit overdone, but stuies life also probably resembled an overdone drama movie. And anyway, pat morita played an asian casino kingpin, so the movies gotta be cool. The question it left me with at the end of that movie was, did he REALLY give a prostitute 30k? And if he did my next question is, where do i sign up, and how much do breast implants for men run these days? Indeed, i am not a proud man...

Main point here though is hell yeah Lebowski is the greatest movie. Although im not sure that its much of a neurotic jew flick. Walter, even though he doesnt roll on shabbas wasnt even jewish, he was fuckin polish catholic! Yeah yeah, i know, he converted when he married cynthia. A must see for any angelino- theres a certain inner peace i got from knowing exactly which in n out burger they were referring to in the movie.

Saw it, liked it. Book was better.

I'm a big Big Lebowski fan. Anybody buyin a quart of milk and paying by check has got my vote. A fun game to play is to smoke up everytime he does in the movie..kind of like playing that college Scarface game, but with herb.

And, yes, my Tivo is loaded with Seinfeld episodes!
