Well, I have been gone from the game for a little bit (my wife and I had our 2nd child about 8 weeks ago), I have not been playing for a couple of months till this past week. I am micro-stakes, and definately still learning the six max game. One of my main study points of six max has been this thread by Tien over at 2+2. I remember there was a thread discussing it here...I think Roy may have even called it pure gold.
It advocates never open limping, but it also advocates playing very tightly from early position. What little I have used this strategy for has seemed to work well, but I fold many hands out of position that I am sure much more skilled players like Roy and T-Rod probably play. If you are looking to establish an aggressive image, I would lean towards saying no opening limping. If you are looking to disguise your image, appear to be weak tight or loose passive so you can take advantage later on (this probably works much better at much higher stakes, micro players do not consider image any more than they consider position I don't think), then mixing in a few open limps from UTG early on in your session may be profitable, although not at first, but later on in your session
