Just wondering about the following hand, I know I should just check now, me and Roy discussed it, I'm either very behind or very ahead. Just wondering how far do I call, along turn and river as well, and do I often have to fold if he goes all in on the river say?

2nd hand. Just wondering how to maximise value without giving room for draws.? Bet $1 rather than $1.50 is the easiest solution yes?

Hand 1: Don't raise that garbage preflop. As played, if you don't raise there you'll be stuck calling all the way down to the river. SB wants to know if his medium pair is good and if you just call he'll probably keep betting at you. You're putting in at least $1.50 anyway. IMO, it's better to know there on the flop. Make the raise and if he comes back at you, fold. If he just calls, check behind on the turn and call up to pot on the river.

Hand 2: Stack sizes help. Are the mini-raising donks short stacks? There's a flush draw and you have 2 donks in with you. You really want to bet around the size of the pot.

It seems that if you underbet the pot - even by 10 cents - you're more likely to be called by weaker hands. If you overbet the pot - again even by 10 cents - you're more likely to get folds except from strong hands, strong draws, and morons. Figure out who you're playing against and what you want them to do and bet accordingly.

In hand 2, you want them to make a mistake by calling but there are 2 donks in there. I suck at doing the math quickly, but I'd bet 75-90% of the pot and expect at least 1 call. I might even overbet push that turn and type "lol" if they both fold (as a setup for later). But I probably wouldn't overbet the pot as you did unless I had a note that one of them was a moron.

Why bet so much in the 2nd hand ?
