My opponent has pushed all-in after the turn and I made the call. I'm ahead but he has a lot more outs than I suspected. I have two pair and he has an open ended straight draw, a flush draw and can hit trips if another 4 comes. All told he has 16 outs with just the river to come. He has a 34.8% chance to hit one of his outs and he suggested we run the river twice. I opted not to and he hit a club on the river to win a $1,600 pot. What stings is that I was up $300 and was getting ready to leave in 15 minutes so I didn't have time to build a stack back up and had to leave down for the night even though I had played well. More of a mental hit from the timing than anything else.
My question is, should I have run the river more than once? I've never taken this option before but it seems I might have suggested running it three times just to keep my variance a little more evened out, especially at the very end of the night. What are people's thoughts on this if any?
