Another shortish session, 323 hands +$108. I must try to get more hands in, but it feels like I'm coming down with the same aches and throat cold that the missus had recently, so it doesn't look promising.

Well that felt good, Spurs losing their first game of the season.
All we need to do now is get off to a good start by beating Fulham at home tomorrow lunchtime. I'm so tempted to go and watch it in the pub.

Things seem to be going quite well on the poker front at the moment, though obviously having written that I'm now going to go into one of those disgusting 6BI downswings.

This month I've made a few modifications to my postflop game after reviewing some stats in PT and PokerEV. I was definitely folding too many hands where I was ahead, so the PokerEV green line was some way South of the blue and red. Concentrating a bit harder is helping too (enabling me to identify suitable candidates for a float), as is running hot by about 200BBs.

August so far looks like this (small sample though and will probably resemble a dying man's ECG by the end of month)

That was very nearly a disaster. Didn't watch it in the end as I had 454968346 shirts to iron, but I listened to it on the radio instead. Despite Spuds losing, I'm now a bit less confident of my claiming my 5 pints from JJ. I know it's ealry days and some of thr newyer players have yet to settle in, but we've really got to be beating the likes of Fulham 3 or 4 nil at home if we're to carry any sort of momentum into the following week.

Got the away CL leg against Sparta Prague this Wednesday night, so if it's not on terrestrial TV hopefully I'll persuade (ie bribe with drink) a Chelsea tosser mate to join me in the pub for it.

Still only 4341 hands played this month, just under 10k BetFred points accumulated, so I still need to get another 7k hands in this month to hit the 25k BetFred points I need to maintain my loyalty level.

Poker's a bitch: when you've running badly you don't want to play; when you've been running hot for a while you don't want to play either.
