I open black QQ UTG to $175, 23/21 big blind is the only caller.
We have about $11k effective stacks.
He is very aggressive, evenly on all streets.

Flop , pot $375.
He checks, I bet $300, he check/raises to $950.
I call.

Turn , pot ~$2300.
He leads for $1600.

I've got about $10k left at this point.

Thoughts?

This a pretty standard spot except for the stakes.

You've basically repped QQ-AA and he's not scared.

Without a more detailed read, I would fold.

I def think you are ahead of his range here. Its kinda of a tricky spot cause you dont want to just throw it all in there bein 2 stacks deep. However, there is alot of draws he coudl be semi-bluffing with so just calling the turn for pot control could be dangerous.

Hands that beat you: 4x, 44, 99, TT, KK, AA. That is a pretty narrow range of hands. AA, KK you would expect a 3bet PF of course as well as TT or 99 would be 3-bettable. Particularly since he is a 21/23. His most likely bb Cold calling range would be suited connectors and small pairs.

I think his most likely hand is a diamond and/or str8 draw that he hit with his Suited connector or TP+FD ([Td] ).

However he could def bluff the diamond of course with somethin like a missed straight draw. I think he will actually give up on the river alot of the time if he misses. I think i would call the turn and actually FOLD alot of rivers if he fires strong again.

This is tough. I think you are up against a hand like [Td], [Td] or [Jd] a lot. AA/KK/TT seem pretty remote. 99 is more possible. He probably never calls preflop with any hand with a 4 in it except 44. Air should be in his range too.

Because we are deep and I don't want to play for stacks I probably just call. THe river is going to be a tough though because an A, K, T, maybe an 8 and any diamond is going to suck.

Blah...or you could fold and leave the table. Start again with 100BBs so you don't get into these spots with tough players.

I like the call line because you can't expect him to put more money in against raise with anything you beat. You have to weigh the value of protecting your hand vs. keeping the pot small/inducing river bluff. I think the latter wins out in this case.[/quote]
