so the past 7 or 8 weeks have just been ridiculous beat after ridiculous beat. i've probably dropped about 5 stacks on really stupid plays but i've run into so many beats/suckouts/coolers that i dont even know what to do. here's a bit from tonight:

i raise [3c] in the CO. BB 50/14 fish calls. flop 652 w/ the draw also. check, i pot, he calls. turn . check, i pot, he calls. river . check/check and he flips [2d] for the runnered nut flush.

guy raises OTB to $9. he's been overbet-shoving preflop any time someone 3-bets him. so i 3bet to $30 w/ AA. he calls. the flop K72 and we get it all in. this time he has 77.

one villain called OOP w/ AJs. check/called flop + turn vs. my AQ on an A-high board and runner-runnered a flush. another one called pot bets the whole way and rivered a flush to beat my 2 pair. yet another runnered a straight with the same 2 cards that i runnered top 2 pair with.

my favorite hand is this: i raise ATs in EP. 2 guys call. flop AQ7. i bet, they both call. turn K. i bet, they both call. river 8, bringing a flush. i check. dude 1 pots it. dude 2 calls. i muck figuring there's no way i can overcall w/ AT. they both flip KJo and split my money.

i also lost all 3 of my PF all in coinflips w/ AK. and a million smaller things. and i played a bit earlier in the day where [Ad] on a [4d][2d] flop was apparently not strong enough to beat 97 offsuit.

all in all i lost about 6 buyins at $200NL, bringing my bankroll down $3600 from its high point circa June 1.

the stupid thing is that im playing better than ever. i've fixed a lot of leaks. i am much more opponent-specific in my play and much more aware of context. and i can't win a session to save my life. i value bet much more frequently and in better spots.

im giving it another week or so and if things don't turn around i'm going to cash out and call it quits.

I understand what you mean. Yesterday was also my worst day ever. I lost 1500 bucks and nearly one flat screen facing the badest calls taking my money away.

My favorit:
One of the last hands I played: AA dealt to me. On the flop comes the 3rd A with possible flush draw. I was in value betting mode knowing that any kind of tricky play would blow my ass up that night.
Villain called me all the way down hitting his runner runner 5s for a poker.

He disagreed with me that calling pot sized bets is retarded with an AJ7 flop. So I called him a mf idiot and smashed my mouse against the screen.
Then I switched to youtube watching some amazing bruce lee bone cruncher vids.

Didn't sleep very well anyway...

I'm having a tough month myself at FTP and share many of your same feelings and thoughts.

Why not try a different site for a while just to mix up the mojo. I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
