Last night I found myself making a play that was so incredibly stupid I felt like I was back at the very beginning of my poker career. Just dumb. Not an advanced play run amok or FPS, just a dreadful stupid play. I kicked myself and shut down all my tables immediately for the rest of the night.

How often does this happen to you guys? Just doing something that you know you shouldn't, that you never do, but somehow it happens anyway?

Do any of you find yourselves regressing sometimes? Any hints to help me not do it again? Or is this just time for a "LOL @ k3nt" moment?

(If you must know ... I dropped half a stack calling a raise with AT oop and playing to showdown on an A-high board, losing to the super obvious AK. )

I make 1 or 2 bad calldowns pretty much every day. For example, I got milked for over half a buyin yesterday with AK on a K9xxx board.

Villain min-raised flop, bet smallish on turn and river and I paid him off (he had K9). my problem is that I inflate the pot and then its hard to let it go. I want the donks to put in a lot of money preflop when I have the best hand so in this case the pot on the flop is $30 (at 1/2).

However, I don't usually make many really bad technical mistakes like calling raises OOP with AT and calling 3 barrels.
