Him calling my raise made me very suspicious from the off. That's an 8xbb raise and immediately I put him on a range of QQ/KK, perhaps AK or JJ. Aside from the other AA being very unlikely he would have re-raised me. However, you could say he would have re-raised with KK.

Given this I checked the flop when I saw the king. The small bet made me suspicious and I often see this kind of bet being used when a player has the nuts at the time and wants to keep other players in the pot knowintg they have little chance of being out-drawn. I figured if he had AK he would have made a bigger bet and QQ or JJ he would have checked given his low AF. What do you think of my lay-down? I can see how many people would think I should push on the chance he has QQ or AK and was too cautious

Your preflop reraise is too small. Make it more like $7....then dont fold.

Youre better off just deciding right off the bat that you are never folding in a raised and reraised pot, than what you did here.

If you make it $7 preflop and they still both call, the pot is $22ish. Bet $15-$18 and push the turn. If he outflopped you, he outflopped you.

Ice is spot on, don't fold AA in reraised pot.

Thats a very weak played AA. Thats a perfect flop for AA what were you waiting for? I would have potted it on the flop and if villan went ALL-IN I would have called in a second. There is only one had really that you have to worry about via the betting and that is KK. There are so many other ways it could be AK,KQ it kinda makes me sick. On the turn if he calls your flop be...put him in. I think you are making the villan hands ranges way to narrow and worring about monsters under the bed. If someone only calls my reraise and teh flop is K high and I lose to KK.....so be it. With a K out theree that means there is only 3 ways he can have KK and 12 ways to have AK and as ways to have a less likley KQ. So he is 4x more likley to have Ak now that the K is out.

If you folded AA which is the absolute best starting hand in poker. Then you shouldn't be playing poker at all. Try checkers.
