First 400$ NL session

Played my first $400 session Sunday evening at party. 4 tabling 6 max. Suprised to see quite a number of bad players at the tables but of course I couldnt make a hand against any of them for my life.

Did make this hand against a regular on my first orbit though... Not happy about my decision at all:

Didn't hit any draws, 2 sets where 1 paid me off, except for that pretty much nothing came my way.

Session ended down -$600 (150 BB), I still have 5 buyins left at my 400 shot, hopefully it turns around...

I just started reading your journal.... I use Opera mini all the time on my phone... it's the only thing I am using when surfing the net. the thing is priceless...

QQ all in vs shortstack ($150), he has 66. Flop bla bla bla, turn 6, he wins.

30 mins later: Another villain, $500 stacks.
QQ on button I make it $20, BB RR to $55, he's quite a LAG. I opt to flat call and get it in on any safe flop.

He checks, I bet $90, he RR all in, hm, I don't believe him, I put him on AK and call.

He has A4c No draw, nothing, nada, zilch. All he can hope for is 3 outs..

River I don't know, cause I was just seeing red.....

Down -700$ in a session, Sklansky bucks tells me I should have been up +$400 in the same session, maybe som comfort... But where can I shop for my Sklansky bucks huh ?

Soon one week into my 400 NL attempt, I've only played about 2K hands (family takes time) and so far I'm about break even (Well down about 50 BB but plus some bonuses)

Sklansky bucks says I should have made about $600 more than what I'm at, so I think I have been running slightly cold and I haven't really hit many hands this week so actually i don't feel bad about my run at the 400's so far. i think I have played well and if I just continue on this line the profits will come eventually.

I have datamined Party 400's a lot this week:
The games are about as I expected, a lot of winning regulars at each tables which you have to tangle abit with sometimes, I have found some tables which has been decently loose with average vpips in the 35%'s. In a good table you can often see 1 or possibly two loose players around 40% (and occasionally 70% lol) surrounded by 20/18/x TAG's.

Earlier this week I sat at a table with 3 45% vpip passive fullstack fish but couldn't hit a hand... Frustrating the least to say.....

I get 3 bet alot by some regulars, especially one yesterday who probably 3 bet me 50% of the times i opened in LP and where I had to fold. I did get some big PP's after awhile but for some reason I never got action with them from him... (I always openraise 4 BB + limper). Tightening up a bit PF in late position is certainly an option against him but when there is fish around you just have to pay him off a bit sometimes in order to isolate the fish othertimes.

I'm certain there is a lot of money to be extracted at this level though and some of the regulars in my DB seems to be making a fortune.

Meanwhile I will just grind it out, waiting for a heater that can lift me well into safety concerning my BR to continue playing the 400's.

It's an understatement to say weekend has been good. I'm running like god himself has touched my mouse (as someone said). This weekend I've made more than I've made so far this year. After one week of datamining Party my DB suggests I have the top NET winnings(can't complain about that)

1. Yeah pretty much. I guess you could CRAI on turn but i get the feeling he's pretty strong.

2. Don't like the push. He folds all worse hands. Unless he's terrible you're not getting value from anything worse than an 8.

4. I like the fold. Otherwise I like a line of calling and see what the turn brings. But a fold is fine.

Im doing great Sklansky wise, unfortunately I loose as a favourite constantly, Running 1500 worse than what's EV. hmm.

I'm getting screwed by Partypoker over and over, suckouts like you woldn't believe it, lose to 1 and 2 outers like its completely standard. I don't flinch about it even anymore, I don't even shrug, I smile and laugh a bit and think - Well that's another bump in the red line but a drop in the blue line...Sick chart and the gap just keeps growing...

Before this session I saw Poker EV said I was running 1700$ worse than I should so I though OK I can't wait until My blue line intersects with the red again, like it should... sometimes... eventually... It has to right ???

But not today... All in on flop, they hit their 2 pairs on river, KK all in PF vs AK of course I lose. My sets are runner runnered by flushes etc... Crazy crazy crazy....

I think I'm going slighly insane, I don't even want to post the hands, they make me puke.

I think the EV chart speaks for itself, I'm running 3000$!!! worse than my pot equity ! WTF ? I only made 1000$ this month so far, this means I'm only getting 1/4 of my pot equity share ! Will it ever get back ? I can't stay minus my whole poker career can I ?

I'm going to give this graph september out and see how sickly it develops, after that I'm going to write Party support an email and ask for an explanation....
