He had [Kh][Qh]. I still think calling down is correct, 4:1 on the turn and almost 4:1 on the river.

I dunno about the first hand really, I mean that's a perfect way for opponent to play QJ there, blocking bet on turn, and half pot on river in case you missed draws/bluff etc. I might call depending on my read/etc. what he has.

And depending on your levels, it depends whether you call 3-bets or not. At NL$25, NL$50 I think you should almost always call a 3-bet (But within reason, obviously you DO need the actual odds to call, but most of the time you are given them.) Most players only play AA/KK/QQ/JJ/10/10/AK like this, and most will go all in on the flop with your min-raise play.

That being said, I believe folding 5, 5 there was optimal, you're not getting the right odds for a set. :\

OK, I'm sure different folks' experiences differ. I never ever ever win with hands like the JJ. Maybe I just run bad ... or play against WT opponents who bluff way too little.

Similar to Red's 55 3-bet hand, here is a similar, but different situation where I feel it was ok, if not mandatory to call the 3-bet.

[5s][5d] MP2 9-handed w $24.65
Folded to me, I make the standard pot sized raise to $0.85
Folded to BB who re-raises to $3 and has $22.60 behind

BB covers me by $0.90. BB is 12/9 36 WTSD AF=4. There's a good chance I'm going to stack him here if I hit.
More importantly, it costs me $2.15 into an immediate $3.95 pot, but an additional $21.65 if I stack him.
So $3.95 + $21.65 - (rake - approx. $2.50) /$2.15 = implied odds of about 11-1
This is far above my set flopping odds so I call

[3d][Qh][5c] Pot $6.10
This flop is GREAT for me. He's definitely drawing to 2 outs or less (unless he has QQ which means I'm crushed anyway).
BB bets $3, I just call

[8h] Pot $12.10
Another great card for me. Only hand he could possibly have that was aided by this card is [Ah][Kh]
BB checks, I bet $6, BB is all-in
BB has [Ad][Ah]

Rake was $2.45 so I was getting almost exactly 11-1 here on my implied odds preflop.
Afterward BB made me laugh with the comment "calling to draw, lol".

Note: This may be better suited to FR than 6-max where a 3-bet in the BB from a tight/aggressive is just about always QQ+/AQs+ where as in 6-max, 3-bets from the blinds vs LP raises could be much less and you have less of a chance of stacking if you hit. That's not to say that you definitely should or shouldn't call at 6-max, just that the 3-bet in FR is almost always a big hand.

MTpaid, I'm not going to do the math for it (I've done it before a long time ago to figure stuff out for myself), but you need to be stacking someone like 85%+ of the time using the 10x rule.

When they miss with AK/AQ, you don't stack them. When you get oversetted or they suck out on a two outer or a draw, you get stacked.

If you think you're going to be stacking someone like 90%+, then I say go ahead and call the 3-bet. That's not the case in 6-max and I doubt it is in FR either.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
3 players

Stack sizes:
Hero: $64.65
SB: $74.35
BB: $31.85

Pre-flop: (3 players) Hero is Button with [Ah] [Ad]
Hero raises to $1.75, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: [9s] [8h] [Ks] ($3.75, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $3, BB calls.

Turn: [As] ($9.75, 2 players)
BB bets $5.5, Hero raises to $26.25, BB folds.
Uncalled bets: $20.75 returned to Hero.

Results:
Final pot: $20.75

I shoved because I basically timed out, but then again I've been timing out in like every hand for the last week.

I would call for sure if the guy wasn't so short. Against a shorty are we better off just putting him in here or do we like a call?

The more I think about it I like a call simply because I am hogging all the aces. So, after a few minutes of thought (which I didn't have at the table obviously) I like shoving KK here but calling AA. That sound right?

7 players NL200

Everybody folds to fairly solid CO(~250$) who minraises to $4. Button(~300$) who is a pretty good regular reraises to $10 and I call with [Ah] [Jh] in the BB. CO calls.

Flop(30$) is [Ac] [7h] [2h]

I check, CO checks, Button bets 50$ and I shove.
