My winning ways continued and I won a few dollars more.

You know you are running good when you have T3 against T9 and win when a three comes on the river.

I also had another interesting hand when I had A4 against my opponent in the big blind who decided to defend with 98 against my raise. The flop came 448. I flopped trip 4s against my opponent's pair of eights. My opponent check raised me on the flop and I called. The turn was a blank (a deuce) and when he continuation bet on the turn, I raised him. The river was a 9 and my opponent foolishly decided to bet into me and I raised him again and won a nice pot.

I won a dollar today, but it was a struggle. I was down as much as $6 but I won a bunch of small pots at the end to finish in the positive. During the downturn I was in some big pots, but I either got beat on the turn or river or missed my draws. I had one hand where I had 17 outs to improve to the winner with a pair of jacks and missed everything and made a crying call at the end which was no good.

Anyway after being down for most of the day, I'm happy to end up in the plus column.

Played a late night session and won another $5.

No interesting hands to mention.

I calculated that I raised my average big bets per 100 hands back up to 5 again for this level.

I played a session this afternoon and won $10.

The only interesting hand was when I had A8 against A2. The flop was A K 2. My opponent hit his 3 outer deuce to take the lead. The turn was a Q. I hit my three outer 8 on the river to win.

The poker gods decided that I was getting too overconfident since I won two sessions yesterday, so they decided that I would give back all of my winnings from the second session. An event which happened quickly in my next session. In the give-back session, I had tremendous bad luck. I flopped a set of aces and got beat by a flush on the turn. I had pocket kings and got beat on the river by A 6 when an ace came. In other hands, I would have top pair and an overcard would come on the river to pair up my opponent and beat me.

I made back all of my losses, but then started losing again. In one of my losing hands I flopped the nut straight and after capping the turn, I lost when my opponent, who had two pair, made a full house on the river.

Then I started winning again. I got pocket aces twice in four hands, and both times the aces held up to win unimproved. That was unexpected.

Then I got a big blind special with T 4, when the flopped came 4 4 T. I flopped a full house and decided to slow play it against two opponents, who both only had one pair, and I won a nice sized pot.

At the end, I was down $1. I could have played to try and get even, but I was tired and decided to call it a day.

I won another $8 today. No interesting hands to write about.

If I can win about another $20 in the next two days, I think that I will move up another level on October 1. If I don't win that much I'll keep playing where I am now and move up later.

I'm still averaging about 6 big bets per 100 hands at this level.

Yesterday, I started out down about $8, and then made about $4 of it back. Today in the afternoon, I had a very successful session and made $19.

Some of my successful hands today were as follows:

1. I had JJ and flopped a set and won.
2. I had Ac 2c against A T and beat my opponent when a 2 came on the river.
3. I had AK against KK and won when an ace flopped.
4. I had AK and turned the nut straight (AKQJT) and won.
5. I had Q T and flopped the nut straight with a flop of A K J. I split the pot with another queen when the turn was a ten.

As you can tell from the above hands, I was running well today.

I will probably play another session later on today.

Unless I start running really bad, I am going to finish out the month (today and tomorrow) at this level and on October 1, I will be moving up to .25/ .50 6-max limit hold'em.

I find it remarkable that I will be able to move up after a little over a month in spite of a 15 day breakeven period starting at the beginning of the month.
