Did I have the right odds to call the turn raise? Assuming that I was behind, which I actully wasn't...

I figured I was 30% to fill up and I was getting close to 3-1 with my call... does him not having any money left on the river factor into this call.

you're usually going to be 20-25% to fill up on the turn (depends on villain's cards). in the first hand, you probably had implied odds to call anyway.

also, try and get some reads. if the table is regularly overplaying their hands like this, you can't assume that the turn raise = a str8.

in a 3-handed game, your pf decision is fine. that being said, i'm not sure playing 3-handed to start off playing plo is necessarily a good idea.


fwiw, low-level plo games are a TON of fun. it seems like the games you're playing have a bunch of players who are either overly aggressive or overly passive (and calling stations). if you can adapt to each of these extreme types, plo is like a present. the higher games tend to be more aggressive (fewer free cards, plenty of bluffing and jamming, etc.) and swingier (jamming the flop with a small equity edge often creates significant swings).
