mmm..i'm definitely betting the turn after it's checked to me, then he's going to raise probably making a decision to fold a bit easier.....also if he was semi-bluffing the flush(yeah he is OOP but anyway) draw u just gave him a free card to beat you. Given the way u played the hand I don't know how u shoulda played the river, cause its hard to say where u were after checking the turn. Bet the turn........and wait for the BB to come around before you post!

It's OK until the river IMHO.

When he raises the flop that usually means AK,AQ,AJ, two pair (here A8) set or flush draw.

It's mostly a way ahead or way behind situation for you (as the flush draw is the only draw out there), so I don't mind (in fact quite like) the flop check.

Your river push (a massive overbet) confuses me. Are you value betting or bluffing an 8? It's true that it lseems unlikely he has an 8 given the flop play (unless it's A8), but you are still WAOWB and should be happy to flat call. A call on the end is fine as your check on the turn would often induce a bluff from a busted flush draw or a value bet from Ax.

You might push another AK away but a worse hand won't call and all you are doing is stacking off to his full house if he had a set or A8 on the flop
